However im hoping that they are NOT at Bonnaroo. With Phish being all but a certainty at this point I think that 2 nights of Phish and The Dead is just too much jam. Im hoping for a little more variety with the headliners. Now if Phish isnt playing two nights then I would be more down for it but if Phish is indeed headlining 2 nights then I would def. rather have Bruce then The Dead.
better watch your karma with opinions like that
Thats why the whole karma thing is ridiculous to begin with, why would people drop your karma because they disagree with you? Doesnt make sense to me, but anyways..
^ i'm pretty sure she was just jokin around. her sn is HIPPIEnaustin. but yeah as much as i freakin love the dead and as much as i want phish, i would really only be down for both if phish was doing a latenight for their 2nd show. will more than likely be one or the other.

Yeah I meant no offense to Hippie or anyone that loves the Karma system and all that. Now like I said before if Phish headlines one night and does a late night and The Dead and Bruce headline the other two nights now that I would be down for. I like jam bands but im going to have a real hard time convicning any of my friends (not really jam fans) to come to Roo with me with 3 jam headliners and i really dont want to go solo this year.

yeah i'd have the exact same problem with my friends if there were nothing but jam headliners.

Well either way, like it or not, were going to get The Dead or Phish. Which is absolutely magical in my book. It seems as though the only rumor is Phish. Which makes me wonder why the hell did i not buy a ticket. The Dead released a tour, but nothing about playing any Bonnaroo or any other festival. There is a link on the Phish thread about how in November there was a rumor about Phish going on tour from a guy that works in graphic design. bonnaroo.proboards21.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=bands&thread=15746&page=1

yeah, I just read through that thread on the phish boards... apparently they're expecting a tour announcement on wednesday.

I think it's pretty likely The Dead will be there. Every single year there has been some form of the Grateful Dead at Roo. 2002 - Phil Lesh and Friends (w/ Bob Weir) 2003 - The Dead 2004 - The Dead 2005 - Bob Weir and Ratdog 2006 - Phil Lesh and Friends 2007 - Bob Weir and Ratdog 2008 - Phil Lesh and Friends. I'd almost be surprised if they weren't there.

exactly. it just wouldnt be roo without at least one set of Dead
hhmmmmm seems like their have to be more tour dates to be tacked on to that. They hit a lot of the east coast, dabble out west, but don't really cover the south. The only middle-America date is the one show in Chicago. Perhaps they withheld announcing the second leg of the tour because it would be an obvious tip off to a Bonnaroo appearance? I can only hope.
I am so so hoping that thats the case! I have folks in Chicago and around that i plan to hook up with for that show but it soes seem that maybe they are plannin on covering us southern deadheads with a full on show at the roo!
oh and the warren Haynes suggestion to sit in is STELLER! Maybe at the superjam

first of all i would rather not have bruce there at all...personally not a fan....and to the person who said the dead and phish is too much jam...what is too much jam???? that doesnt exist......and i was wondering with the dead tour coming up and warren haynes on board and it being the allman brothers 40th anniversary and they said they are going to hit the road hard this year....is it possible for them too link up for a huge fucking amazing tour?????

im definitely gonna see the dead in chicago, and I too am stoked (!) about warren haynes playing with them. As for phish and the dead being on the farm at the same time...that would be effing sweet!! I know that there are plenty of connections between the two bands, especially with trey....and he is friends with warren haynes as well.....
sweet vid of them both...
as for bruce...i could totally do without him, and in fact, id be at best mildly disappointed if he was a headliner. not that i dont like some of his music, i just think there are quite a few better options out there...

I've been hoping for a Phish/Dead/Allman Bros Bonnaroo for months now. This would likely bring more of my friends out. Seems too good to be true, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

and it would make the masses happy i would think....bringin the fest back to a jam fest.....thats wut needs to happen....dont get me wrong i like some variety but that bullshit metal needs to go and be replaced with quality jam music

Looks like I won't be able to make it to any of the shows they have released so far, so I would be a very happy hippie if they were at Roo this year. It would probably make it one of the best weekends I could imagine with them and Phish ;D
Nol13: I was just about to post that link. Man, those things are expensive. I was going to go to the Chicago show (moving to Michigan in March) but I might not now. 99 bucks!!! And thats if you get a ticket early on. 53 for crappy seats. Damn!! Guess I will have to see these guys at the Roo or Rothbury.

Hopefully they will do a summer tour and have some outdoor venues on the east coast. Lawn tickets at Shoreline are only 45 dollars. Still keeping fingers crossed for a Deer Creek stop. Gladly pay $45 for it. (Paid 44.50 in 04' for general lawn)
I may be paying about 60 dollars a piece for Phish Deer Creek tickets (but its also best available, so maybe i'll score some good pavilion seats).
