Depending on where your camper is parked in relation to some of the temporary street lighting you might not need much. Are you looking for anything fancy? Or just area lighting? I'm sure your camper has a porch light for area lighting, if you are looking for Patio Lights, camping world has some to choose from. With most patio lights will require 120V to operate so your generator must be running.
In most areas, except maybe BFE, it is pretty well lighted already. A good flashlight or headlight is very helpful for finding items at night.
If you want enough light to read or play cards or something ??? a lantern or the like would come in handy. I have a big LED solar pool umbrella light that I bring but rarely, if ever, use.
We brought a couple of windup flashlights and they served us well. No batteries needed, which is always a plus. A couple of solar lights might have been nice around the campground. It was fairly well lit already, but there were a few times where we could have used some more light.
One Colman gas camping lantern hung from caribeaners in the center of your campsite should provide PLENTY of light and will last all four days. I go with 12 people who all camp together and 4 lanterns hung on the corners provide all the light we could ever want.
Just make sure you take a small pocket flashlight so you can see what you are doing when you're trying to light them once it's already dark.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
i like your idea of hanging the gas lantern from the corner instead of hanging in the middle. i hit my head countless times last year, and i even broke a globe on one of the lanterns

I've always gone with a battery operated camping lantern. Although there has always been adequate light form the "street"lights around the camping area. I'll def. be bringing a good flashlight this year though.
A good headlamp is a must. A couple years ago I had a guy offer me $40 on Thursday night cause he forgot his. I could have made some money from him but I had to keep it. I did upgrade last year to one that was about $50, puts out some really good light.
