Trent does it again. After a few lost opportunities on a major production release (Including one in 3D), Trent and co released a promised present for his fans, over 400 GIGS of HD concert footage from 3 separate shows. They are completely unedited and all sound is taken completely by the source.
I believe what he's trying to get at is for the fans to do the editing and finalizing of it all. NIN fans are infamous for being cult-like followers as well as MAJOR tech geeks, so expect some amazing outcomes.
Anyone who attend a Lights in the Sky show knows how amazing the entire production was; visually astounding (especially the Ghost tracks with accompanying breathtaking photography of Rob Sheridan) and probably the best they've ever sounded
fvck yea! lights in the sky was beautiful and I cant stop listenig to ghosts. I hope it doesent take to long to get a edited version of this. I 'd love to watch the whole thing but I dont have anywhere near 400gigs on my pc
Dude, these things are huge!!! I was gonna download the Portland show till I saw that it alone was 30 gigs. I'm gonna have to dl it when I'm gone for awhile cause my connection ain't that fast.
I looked at that, and I was so tempted. But I lack the puter power, HD space, and know how. Plus, husband would kill me. I do have two desk tops and two laptops. Think I could net work those puppies together? ;D

Well crap! I was really hoping VooDoo would be one of the shows that they got footage from...it was INSANELY good! 100XXX times better than Lolly!! Course it was the LOOONG overdue homecoming for Trent and he even acknowledged it in a rare "speech" during the set....very awesome and made it even more intense and emotional! And even more high energy and over the top!! But...since I didn't see any of these other three I can't say that they weren''t just as good if not better! But man...I REALLY hope so!! Hurry up you video geeks..I can't WAIT to see what you come up with!! ;D
Voodoo being his homecoming of sorts was one of the major draws for me (who didn't attend... have I ever told ya!?), even as big of a NIN fan as I am, I knew he'd do something even more special for this show.
That said, the Duluth show I saw was one of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life, no doubt, and probably the best show I saw in 08. I've heard similiar things from people who've seen other shows on this tour, so I've got no doubt that this includes some AWESOME footage.
I love how all the NIN heads who stayed loyal during the off years are being repaid in spades now. Trent is probably the biggest musician to give so much to his fans, and it makes for such an amazing connection. It's clear when he thanks us at the shows that he's genuinely appreciative, and not just going through the motions for the sake of PR.
now that NiN is an official bonnaroo myspace friend, i thought this could use a little bump... if you're not worried that watching some footage from last fall's tour will ruin the (*speculated*) show at roo, check this out:
be sure to watch in hd, and good lord don't bail out before 4:10!!!!!
the show at Bonnaroo will be completely different from the Lights in the Sky tour. There won't be any big visual representations like there was on the last tour. I've seen videos from the show they played a few days ago in Australia, and it's very stripped down and raw. Playing some songs they haven't let loose in awhile, too (THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL?!).
Probably doesn't help that Alessandro (keyboardist) left, and Josh Freese left too. Trent is now doubling as vocalist and keyboardist like in the old days, and I've heard Ilan (the new drummer) plays keyboards AND drums during "March of the Pigs". Amazing.
