How will a large Phish crowd change Bonnaroo? Do you think there will be more security? More police? State troopers and local police doing "random" stops along the interstate?

One of my best memories of Roo was in '03. We were camping in pretty cramped quarters with some semi-frat boys neighbors. But most of our neighbors were really cool and offered neighborhood discounts on party favors and such and even the frat boys were pretty cool, if kept in line.
Everyone was VERY socially conscience and as we pulled out, I looked back and there was no trash anywhere. Everyone had bagged everything, separated recycleables and left our entire area in almost pristine shape (except for the trampled grass.)
It was amazing to think that 100,000 people could congregate and leave little or no footprint. I can only speak for our area but, man, I love hippies!
it'll be a holy party worshipping the gods and dionysis himself with full featured circus events including mr. kite himself. it will be a grand spectacular event of significantly immense proportions that will tilt the way you look at life itself and ultimately altar the presence of humanity and the way humanity exists for centuries to come. it will become the single most amazing event of all of our lives combined and will provide us all with amazing powers beyond any of our imaginations.... er... um... it'll be something like that.

If phish is there, I probably won't be afraid to ask for directions to the real shakedown b/c I've always been afraid to ask people before. That's what will change for me.

I suspect the vibe will be very similar. Roo is what you make it. The people that traditionally complain about how bad the vibe has become will probably blame the 09 vibe on phake phish phans (most likely those in white hats). Those that have a good time will attribute it to Roo going back to its roots (even though I'd guess that there is a pretty solid flow-through year over year of repeat attendees).
I say go with an open mind, have a good time and don't let a few selfish or annoying people get you down. Don't let strangers have the power to control your good time and they won't.
If you are not going with an open mind dont go. there a great many fans of many different generes. every one should be happy at roo. if you dont get along with people with different lifestyles, musical opinions, whatevah stay home. roo is what it is....paradise!!!!
How will it not? if they headline for the first time in what 4,290 days?? it will be huge. they dont plan on doing thier own fest...yes it will go back to its roots but i do love how roo has evolved and been able to bring alot of people together for 4 days with almost every style of music being played......and still every one gets along for the most part...Phish may not change roo forever but for 09' if they do (PSSH!! like its not going to happen) Yes it wil be different. It will hopefully be the ULTIMATE combination of every musical style there has ever been. With one of the top 2 jam bands of all time headlining and i am not a hge jam fan. Just a music freak. YES IT WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT! but i do hope they headline 1 night for as long as they want to play 6 + hours would be fine by me

That is exactly what I have been thinking. It will make it a true "hippie" fest which makes me very happy!
Right on! After skipping my "real" family reunion for the last 6 years to attend Bonnaroo, it will be great to be back with everyone again. More smiles, more hulahoops, more dancing, more smelliness, less trash....bring it on!
