that I forgot to ask back then but just remembered. What was up with the detour out through the country on Wednesday?? Did anyone else get re-routed or know why it happened??

im pretty sure we did but i cant be positive because i wasnt actually driving, i was tired, and had never actually left the festival before... but i think we were forced to take a direction when our GPS was telling us to go the other way.
yeah i'm pretty sure they do it when traffic gets to backed up. we saw a bunch of people getting re-routed but it was on the other side of the interstate.
We got rerouted - went the back way through Manchester - to another gate - but then when they saw that we needed access camping - we ended up in that huge ass line anyway
We arrived late Thursday night and were rerouted. We kept going down the country road to nowhere/county highway/local road/whatever it was, but missed where we were supposed to turn in.
So, we ended up having to turn back around.

I think we got to EXit 124, and they re-routed us off the Interstate through some winding country roads, and then we got back on around exit 116. I thought it just may have been a construction issue or something since it was on Wednesday afternoon.
It has been standard practice to reroute people to Exit# 127 and take them up Hwy 50, Hwy 56 to Hwy 55 and Roo. In '03 we arrived at Exit #111 at 7:00am Thur, just as they closed it, and were rerouted this way for a 6-7 hours cross-country excursion.
It helps keep the interstate traffic flowing but can be a hassle if you get caught in it. Especially if you coming from the NW.
