Target has small solar lights (that stick in the ground) for $3 each. They don't really emit enough light to light your campsite, but they are really useful in helping find your tent in the sea of tents at 3am.
Here's a Petzl head lamp that I bought last night. I got it at Dick's only because I had a 25% off coupon and another bonus card for 200 extra points. Got it for $30. Like a kid, I opened it as soon as I got in the car, put it on, turned it on and mistakenly looked in the mirror. I had to wait almost 5 minutes before I could see clearly again. Muthafucka is bright. It has three white light settings (brighter than the sun, kind of bright, and flashing) in addition to a red led that you can switch between constant and flashing. I didn't even buy this for Roo but needed a light for bicycling. I rode my bike home from the bar the other night and was in fear for my life because I had one reflector on my bike and no lights.

I'm thinking about getting that one too, even though I have a perfectly good headlamp already, just because I've been camping too many times and been the only one with a headlamp (or a decent flashlight of any kind for that matter), plus the one I have doesn't have the useful red light to preserve night vision.

Yep, that's the one. I'll bring it out to the Carpenter/Clerk show tonight so you can check it out. I can only assume that you're going. The only problem is that Greyson wants one now after I let him wear it. I think I saw that REI has some made for kids.

I have a Texport that is really similar to that. It's not nearly as easy as an easy-up, but I got it up just fine. It's basically a series of shock cord poles. Like regular tent poles on steroids. They all look the same, which made it take awhile to put up the first time. But once I got it up, I color coded the poles with electrical tape. The fabric on the legs makes it super sturdy, too. We get some crazy wind here. I left it up all day and it didn't budge.
I was at Ocean State Job Lot this weekend (I'm in CT, think they're in other states too thought). They have real EZ Ups - Sierra II 10x10 for $68. They have a bigger one 12x12 for I think $88. Crazy... I am so tempted to buy one, I have a shade canopy but the metal bent and I'm not sure how many times I'll be able to put it up and take it down till it totally goes, but I'm bitter cause I paide over $100 for it!

Do you know about how big it is when it's packed away in the bag? I'm trying to find a smallish canopy because I have to take a greyhound and the size restrictions for the luggage kinda suck. I wish I could take an ez-up

Mine is a 10x10. In the bag, it's about 3- 3.5 ft long and under a foot square ends. But it's loose in the bag. It doesn't turn the bag into a solid block like ez-ups do.

Nickxv - Check out the Helping Hands thread. It's where people who can bring limited stuff can request a Rooster to bring something for them or lend them something. Crewfan is managing it this year so PM him to post your request and maybe someone can lend you an EZup.
It's also a good place to request stuff like water which is hard to bring on a bus/plane/hitchiking.
Usually I bring a few extras which I pick up cheap in the Fall (45-$15) and give them away but this year no one had any mark downs. Still someone out ther might have something
Just a thought

If you want dirt cheap glowsticks in bulk go with ebay. com. You will get a fair amount of bad ones and they wont light for long but they serve the purpose.
If you want cheap (but not dirt cheap) sticks in bulk that are bright and have very few bad ones try glowgranny.com. The ones I have gotten from here are much better quality but of course more expensive.
If you are not wanting to buy in bulk dollar store is a cheap place to grab a few decent glow sticks.
Thanks for the info Clairity and Troo. If I don't find something sufficient I might ask for some help in the helping hands thread. Though I'd rather bring my own because I don't want to depend on someone for shade and then not be able to meet up with them or something.

I just bought this tent at Walmart. It wasn't on sale but still a good tent for the price. I wanted something a little bigger than our current 4-5 person tent so this will work well. It has lots of big "window" areas if you remove the rainfly, so if it gets too hot that will be a good thing.
Bath and Body Works has small bottles of hand sanitizer on sale right now. They have neat holders that you can use to attach the bottles to the outside of your backpack for 50 cents. They were my first roo purchase of the year.
I plan on getting an air mattress this year as I'll be able to use it on another trip this summer. Anyone find any deals on an air mattress?

I never used my fan at night. I did use it some while sitting at camp. Just sat with it in may lap pointing at my face. Also the spray mister was clutch. Imagine 95 degree heat, spray a little water in your face then turn that fan on. Its amazing how refreshing it is. Especially in a hot tent. Your neighbors will enjoy it as well. I think they're about ten bucks, battery powered. I believe i got mine at a CVS
