Beware with solar things that plastic WILL warp in the sun after a while. I got a relatively cheap-o solar battery charger and after about an hour or two charging in it the sun it started changing shape. Now the button won't press in to turn it on since it's so out of shape. Lessons: you get what you pay for and although 93 million miles away the sun is hot shizz

Hiya - 2013 will be my first year "really" camping at Roo (2012 was my first year to attend and I stayed in a hotel -- long story -- and then slept in my car one night), and I have NO camping supplies. None. Nada. And I live in a small condo with no extra storage. Not sure there's an easy solution to this, but if you lovely folks think of anything in particular, give me a shout! Thanks in advance.

- Cheap 2 person tent - EZ-Up - 10x10 Tarp - Battery Powered Fan (or 2) - Camping Chair
Those are pretty much the 5 essential things you need for camping at Bonnaroo. Cover those and you're good.

I live in a small apartment in Chicago. These items don't take up much space and can easily be stored in the closet. The camping chair you can buy the week before, and if you pay attention to the weather you might be able to get away with one of those cheap small ez up things from Target. If it rains and is going to be windy, don't even think about it. One thing Phi left off the list is a cooler. I would get on that is at least two feet long (not sure the gallon size). This will keep your brews, water and food cool.

Talk to people you know about borrowing gear, you'd be surprised what some people have and never use. Also, have you thought about storage in the trunk of your car?

This. I used to keep my tent and a few things in my trunk year round when I lived in a small apartment. Also, if you get a big cooler, store stuff in it, then just throw a blanket over it. Instant extra seating.
2 Headlamps for $5. If you enter code lamp2012 you get $5 flat rate shipping on anything. There are some clamps and lights that would be nice for roo. These are the headlamps I use. Kind of bulky, but so very nice to have.
anyone know where to buy some good beef jerky in bulk?? for a good price?
check out your local farmer's market once it opens in the spring. We have a guy who sells a variety of meats in different flavors in huge bags. I'm planning on stocking up before Roo this year.

I had something similar to this my first year in 2009. Mine ran off of a AA battery. It never fully charged up my phone but it never let it die. Thanks for the post I am going to get one of these.
Nice find. I have 2 Duracell versions of this, and I use them constantly - not just for roo. You'd be surprised how often you can use them. I hope they work for you, too!

Where's that at? I need to make a stop there
The guy I bought from is in Market Square. He has all different meats, turkey/beef/venison/chicken/bison/pork and they are seasoned and smoked in a variety of ways. You can sample all of them too.

Walgreens is having a decent sale on Jack Links beef jerky this week. It is on sale for $3.99, plus they are being distributed with a $1 off coupon. So you can pick up a pack which is normally $6.49 for $2.99. In my 6 years of working at Walgreens, this is probably the cheapest I have ever seen the Jack Links.
