I havent bought new sneakers in a long time. The ones seen in pictures of me in Roo 2005 are the same ones i am wearing now. Its either those or Crocs that i wear everyday . . . and its time for a new pair.
See, the problem is i cant seem to find a pair i like. Went to Kohls, and like stores, and i went to the outlets at the beach, and nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions on shoes you might have bought from the internet, or good sites for shoes? They have to be comfy, yet durable.
I get mine from Fleet Feet Sports - because they will analyze your foot and recommend what will fit your feet properly - but that is me - other then that - I have no idea
Mikearoo, are these every day shoes or will you be wearing them for a specific purpose (ie. running or exercising)? It's hard to recommend a shoe since I don't if you have any quirks with your feet-- wide or flat or anything like that.
If your foot is pretty normal, I would recommend a pair of New Balance. They are pretty comfy if you decide to take a run or something, and they are also pretty stylish. I have also purchased several pair of Onitsuka Tiger Ulitmate 81. They don't have much support for running/exercising, but they are very comfortable for every day wear.
I'd stay away from Pumas and Adidas if you're just looking for something for everyday, as they are usually made for a specific purpose (ie. soccer, motor sport/racing, etc) and can be more pricey. The motorsport shoes tend to be more narrow in the sole and aren't really comfy to me for regular wear.
I'm going to second the recommendation for Onitsukas, they served me well for many years. Anything but Nike - they make a very poor quality shoe. I'm wearing Asics these days, which are pretty good actually.
I do like to take a run every once in a while. I do enjoy new balances, but i find i cant wear them because i tend wear shoes down on the outer sides of my feet, and new balances have those soles that are soft, so i wear the shoe down, so it feels like i am walking on the sides of my feet. I guess thats my only issue with shoes.
Oh, and there is a nice selection of shoes on that Journeys site

That is called overpronation and I have that also - that's why I go to Fleet feet because they put me in shoes that have the right arch support to keep me from doing that. I wear Brooks running shoes (but my brother also owns a Fleet Feet - so I get my shoes at cost from him)
The Onitsukas don't have much arch support, but they are comfortable and very lightweight. I have two pairs and I really like them; I will probably bring a pair to Roo when my feet need a rest from the Crocs. I have had a pair of New Balances for several years now, and the heel of the shoe rubs my heel. So much so that I've worn a hole on the inside of the heel and the padding has come out.
Mikearoo, if you go to a Journeys store, the staff will be super friendly and help you find the right kind of shoe. Good luck!
