Good grief, 1500 pages. What have I gotten myself into???
A fair amount of that is endnotes too. Not sure if that makes it better or worse, but they do sometimes break it up a bit.
Going back to the "taking notes" discussion from before. I wish that every time a new character was introduced, I had written down a name and a short note about that person.
A book I recently read that I will talk up until I'm blue is a little known piece called "The Slut Always Rides Shotgun" by this kid named Dave Matthes.
Fantastic.
Read it. Then go on Goodreads.com and tell him about himself.

Decided to take a read some non-fiction, which is pretty rare for me. This book has been great. His other novel "Buddhism Without Belief" is also really great if you're at all interested in Buddhism/religion/spirituality/whatever.

I've had this one on my list for a while but never got around to buying it. I think I will!
I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane this weekend. I read it in about four hours on Sunday.... granted, it's only 178 pages. I've only read a few of Gaiman's other books but I think this one is my favorite so far.

Here's one I recommend to nearly everyone and read every 6 or 8 yrs. It's about a 5000-year-old Minotaur, named M, working his way thru the kitchens and trailer parks of the Southern US, trying not to step on folks toes... maybe even find some acceptance and/or love. Seems far-fetched, but comes off so believable. Also great for non-reading fans of Sling Blade and Ed Scissorhands.
Currently reading World War Z which is pretty good so far. It's pretty much a bunch of interviews that shape into the story of the zombie war. Haven't read much lately but picked it up due to a flight. The Game of Thrones book series is next on my list.

Not like better than Sandman better, though, right? Better than Ananzi Boys, better, yes?

I haven't read the Sandman series so I can't compare. I think I just really enjoyed it because it was a good, quick read that didn't require a lot of thinking. That was exactly what I needed this past weekend.
By chance, does anyone know a book about social media's effect on the dissemination of information? The subject fascinates me.
Dave, I would suggest you engage Dean on this. Not sure if you guys are Facebook friends or not. I am sure he could point you in the right direction, that is what he does for a living. www.feedback.com
