Hey everybody! Here's the next installment of Pisgah's tip of the week.
Be prepared for the worst. Hope for the best.
A few ways to do that....
The June sun in TN. can be a killer.... literally! Be prepared to deal with it by bringing along:
Some good sunscreen:
Wide brim hat:
and a shade shelter of some sort:
OK, good to go at Bonnaroo or the Sahara. Now, on the other end of the spectrum.... you know, it would blow to be stuck under that shade tent, missing shows, because of rain. Don't forget to pack: A lightweightrainjacket:
and an extra pair of shoes... or even better some galoshes:
Great. now you're ready for the water in the sky.
Next, I won't say Bonnaroo is the best place to treat your body well but... ummm...treat your body well. You'll be walking A LOT. Chafed cheeks and blistered feets make it hard to dance once you get back into centeroo for the 10th time. Don't leave home without:
(Diaper rash cream works well, too... but stinks) and:
This is getting long I know... but to continue... How often do you really eat gyros and funnelcakes? For me, it's about oh, once a year. Your stomach will thank you if you have this on hand:
and I don't know about you but I usually consume more of everything at Roo.... and a little of this in the A.M. helps ease into the day:
and finally, if you forget anything.... don't forget to bring MORE THAN YOU EXPECT TO NEED OF THIS:
FANTASTIC! Esp. the runner glide! I always bring mine, and I can't tell you how many times it has saved me... and in places you don't normally think of too! Like shoulder straps and under flip flop straps.
And my North Face Hyvent shell always comes too, it's perfect for rain and those chilly nights.
Oh! and I meant to ask... your name... is it because you live in the Pisgah Forest area?
Yeah, last year I went out one day without sunscreen because it was way cloudy that morning, but by midday the sun was out and I could just feel my skin being seared.
