Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I thought I'd start a wee thread here to see if there is anyone else coming from outside North America to Bonnaroo this year. Sorry Canada, you don't count eh...
Anyhoo, a couple of us are coming over from Scotland to The Roo this year and we're interested to know if we're the only ones daft enough to make the trek.
Don't expect us to get the kilts out in 40 degree heat though...
There will be no wool unless some guy from Aberdeen brings his woman.
lol
Last year we were camped near a few Brits and a group of Aussies. Apparently there were more groups in the area, but I didn't run into any of them. The tent-only area tends to be where most of the Rooers from overseas are camped. Make sense considering they flew in and probably just took the shuttle.
Bring a Scottish flag around. You'll meet anyone from your area that happens to stumble by, plus it's good for meeting people in general. People are typically interested to meet someone from another part of the world. We had tons of people stop by our camp and ask about our Manitoba flag.
We had a couple of Brits at the Inforoo Brunch in 2007, good guys. That picture and your comments makes me think guys from Aberdeen are a lot like West Virginians. J/K
gf and I met the "best parents at Roo '08" award winners in the VIP bleachers Gogal Bordello/Ben Folds...from Scandinavian country, I forget, beautiful couple seemed to care alot for each other...two boys maybe 10 and 13, would pop in every 45 mins or so to check in and then head back out...very cool.
I adore the international crowd. In 06 when we were getting the feel for it on Friday morning, we were next to this couple and a British guy, and he was explaining to them the basic difference between pounds and dollars. It was cool as hell to us. And the American couple had their little twin daughters in a double stroller with matching outfits. It was pretty neat, tbh.
And I have to apologize to all you Brits for our desecration of your beautiful language.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
yeah Metric! although for some strange reason I only know my weight in lbs no in kilo's. And as I think about it, I only know my height in feet no in meters....wow now I'm just confused.
Having learned metric in school overseas, then coming to America when I was 13 and having to learn the imperial method, I say there's no comparison. I think Fahrenheit is better for approximating temperature, weight and distance with off the cuff estimates, but at least the measurements make sense with Celsius. A kilometer = 1000 meters, a meter = 100 centimeters, and so forth. It doesn't really make sense that a mile should have 5280 feet, and that a pound should have sixteen ounces, and so on.
