Not bad at $155 a ticket (but you have to pay for camping seperate.)
Seriously. Elvis Costello. Wow. plus The Punch Brothers. I can't wait to see the full line up.

Anyone here been to telluride bluegrass before? I've got a few questions. Will the tickets sell out before the fest? And if so, about when will they? Also, I know some campsites are already sold out, but will all of them be sold out before the fest? I think my mom is actually going to come to this with me this year, but we have to find out the weekend of my aunt's wedding before we buy tickets/camping. I'm just trying to figure out how much time I have! Thanks

Single Day Tickets will sell out before especially saturday. I have never camped in one of the close campsites. We usually get a forest service campground somewhere close. It is a really fun festival in a beautiful area and the best is not worrying about conflicts. Also the blanket run is fun and exciting. Really laid back good time.
That's a good idea to go to a campground! What is the closest you've been from the festival at one of the forest service campgrounds? Thanks for the info!
You don't go that much further past the parking lot area. Just keep going down the main road. Usually a really long walk though. Some people just camp along the road but usually you can find a nice spot with out too much of a problem. And it saves money and is a bit more secluded if you are into that. Either way the fest is a blast and I strongly recommend it. Wonderful time never know anyone that didn't love it. I will probably just go Saturday due to Bonnaroo.
Planet Bluegrass has announced some big time additions to the 36th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, held the weekend of the summer solstice, June 18-21, in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado.
The new round of talent includes: David Byrne, Conor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band, Jenny Lewis, Gaelic Storm, and Crooked Still. And Béla Fleck will be joined by Toumani Diabate, Malian master of the kora (21-string West African harp).
there is nothing like staring up at that waterfall while watching some great tunes. Most beautiful scenery a venue has to offer hands down. I went in '96, '97 man how I'd like to get back.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

omgyes- It is GORGEOUS there!
Bonnaroo, as we all know, is awesome. But Telluride, for a flatlands southerner like myself, is so otherworldly and amazingly beautiful, it's just frikkin insane. And then there's the music......
Spent a couple days at the 2007 fest - really wish I'd been there last year for Ryan Adams et al - and as long as the stars continue to align over the next couple months, I will be heading there after pulling out of Manchester on Monday morning. I enter the Town Park ticket lotto every year for the closest spots; alas, I never win. Went ahead and got camp passes for the Ilium campground outside of town - there's a shuttle back & forth, and you can have your car nearby - the other fest campgrounds closer to town are basically like tent-only is at roo.
Nice pics, willwn - I'm jealous Thanks, garageland, for starting the thread - I just now found it during one of my occasional random searches for "Telluride" up in here. I'm so excited! And I hope the rest of you get a chance to get out there - if not this summer, then someday soon!

I can't believe I'd never heard of your town before - just looked it up on the map, tho. Nice area. And you're so right - there is nothing like the feeling of being in that place - hope you make it back out there sometime!

Telluride is an amazing town. Actually the view from the Tom Boy mine area on the Black Bear jeep trail is amazing. Each time I've driven it, I am amazed a the view down into the town.
Depending on the snow in the San Juan's, a venture above Bridal Veil Falls is always nice.
