so all of you down here in SoFla, how are you getting to TN this year? i am going with 2 others, i have made the 14 hour drive twice, and flew halfway there (atlanta) in 07 and drove the rest of the way, this year im pretty sure im gonna fly and rent as close as possible, the 2 days of travel time and the ability to sleep in a bed all day monday is worth the extra cost, and the shuttle is just a fraking rip off. 60 bucks each way? heinous.
This is a tough call for me, because i am going camping only, so i will be renting a car just to get in, but with 2 other people its cheaper than the shuttle, and gives me control of when i roll out, so it seems the best way for me. I think the cheapest way by far is driving, and will remain that way until gas gets back to about 4+ bucks by my calculations., but the time for the drive has its own cost...
anyway, What do you plan to do? are most of you going to drive? fly? anyone taking a bus or a train?

IMO driving is exhausting and takes too long... I've flown in the past two years and the shuttle is $60 bucks roundtrip, $30 each way. Stay in camping only and save yourself the money, plus it's just more fun. Buy yourself a cot or an air matress and you'll sleep much better...hope that helps!! ;D
I have a dilema myself 'cause I have Knox tix and have to figure out how to get to 'roo from there & how I'll take any camp gear since I'll have to stash it during the show...

Last year i drove up from West Palm but cut the trip by spending the night in Atlanta. Sat in TONS of lunctime Chatanooga traffic. .. then drove from roo to ny.. 18 hours of hell.
The year before i flew roundtrip to roo from ny. easy peezy. but not as fun as driving there.
this year.. im driving up from west palm. my roo crew is flying down here from NY and Cali.. so with the 5 of us.. the 12 hour drive should be a breeeeeeeeeeeeze!

suggestions anyone????
catch a ride with djjd. He will be coming from knox
In all reality, there are going to be a bunch of folks coming from Knoxville. Start a thread to arrange rides.

Awesome, i see where i went wrong, they list a thurday-monday shuttle and a friday-monday shuttle, i just glanced quick and saw two shuttle tickets each being 60, that is a lot more reasonable, and i will def be taking the shuttle.
thanks for pointing out the obvious! i really didnt want to have a car at all, and it appears most reasonable now.
lookin for a ride from orlando area. im a college student originally from s. fl i think my 07 crew is gunna bail on me. but im dieing for some bonnavibes. I have a descent post history...notthing too crazy but i been on the board a while...camped near dozer a forum member and solorooer and got along great. Im on facebook... as lame as that sounds im lookin for a ride and tryin to show you potential ride givers im not some sick quack. I'll spring for gas and tolls on the way...and would stay in tent only if drivers preferred it...cig smokers/corn eaters preferred !)
P.S> ill take a ride from nonsmokers too. and never ask for a cig break. i dont mind going for long periods without, i just want my roo.
