If anyone has stayed at KOA in the past, please chime in on the pros/cons. Our crew is considering it due to the price hike in VIP (with fewer amenities). I did GA 02-05 and VIP in 06 and 07, but am having a hard time convincing my crew to pay that kinda cash this year. We are not in an RV - will be between 3 and 6 of us... not sure what the price will be for KOA, what their minimum stay reqs are, if it's worth it, etc. Any help would be appreciated!!!

KOA is most likely booked... i called in 2007 like 8 months before the fest and it was already booked solid. worth a shot though... i can't possibly see any cons to staying there if you like the amenities they offer. call first, ask questions later, gotta get on it to stand a chance
i called yesterday and the guy told me its $885 for 2 people and 1 tent. its an extra $225 for each additional person staying with you. theres no limit to how many people you can add on but you only get 1 car and 1 tent per site. if you book early enough you can get a site with electricity. an rv spot was about $120 more. its cheaper than vip if you can get 6 people on the same site and it sounds like it has better amenities. (24 hour shuttle to and from centeroo, indoor plumbing, less traffic getting in and out....bonnaroo even has someone on site that exchanges your tickets for wristbands and schedules.)
he also said the koa will probably be booked up before the end of the month.

i've stayed at a couple koa's across the country to avoid spending excess money on hotels in places like wyoming and there is nothing special about them it's just a flat place to drop a tent. the thing i didn't like is there is no privacy like when you go to a regular camp site where you have trees surrounding you so it's kind of like camping at roo
