They are off to an amazing start. If they can keep up this level of quality in the comedians and other additions (for me that mainly means the jazz tent), I think this will end up being the best Bonnaroo yet. Honestly.
I'm so stoked. This lineup is rediculous. Elvis Costello, TMV, David Byrne, Animal Collective, Snoop Dogg, The Knux, The Decemberists, Beastie Boys... My mind can barely comprehend that I am going to be seeing all these bands in one weekend. The conflicts are gonna be horrible but I don't even want to think about that yet.
I'm a bit disappointed they almost completely abandoned metal, but we'll see what the lineup additions have to offer.
Agreed, but the rest of the lineup makes up for it. This just makes Down even more surprising though. I expect the additions to be predominately hip hop, metal, and a little electronic. Plus the 3-5 big overall names.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "

This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

i agree with the sentiment that it's a fantastic line-up, and they just need to even out the genres. we've generally got enough alt-country/folk/rock. we def. need more electronic/hip-hop/jazz.

The Mars Volta, finally, I will get to see you in the grandest of all settings. Rodrigo y Gabriela, see above! Down and NIN??? Really??? Can it get much better...O yes it can!!! MGMT, moe., and Gov't Mule and so much more. Now lets just see My Morning Jacket, The Dead, Claypool, Ghostland, Battles, Lez Zeppelin and a few others come back from last year, and spice it up some more in some areas by adding The Allmans, The Roots, one of Maynard's bands, Queens of the Stone Age, sprinkle a couple of GOOD metal bands in and top of with a few more jam bands. Wholllaaa!
(I must appologize, just really really REALLY freakin excited. See you there!)
