Brand new to the boards here and am planning on going to my first Bonnaroo this year! I was just hoping people could give me some advice. Things you should bring/do/plan etc and things you shouldn't do/bring/plan etc.

There's multiple threads but i'll help slightly:
- Bring a towel - Bring water bottles - Buy Lemonade ices - don't be a jerk - bring a shade tent for camp site (sitting in the sun is the worst)
-MEET PEOPLE - introduce yourself to other Roo goers. get to know the questions, "Where you from?" , "Who's the act you're here to see" , "Is this your first Roo?" because it will/should be asked to new people
Don't blow it all on Thursday night. It's a long weekend.
this is important!!! also rest as much as you can during the day and save your energy for the late nite sets
I third this! Last year was my first Roo and I just used Thurday to get my bearings and check out everything...didn't party too hard until Friday. I am glad I had my husband who is like a giant compass b/c I have no sense of direction.
My best advice is don't forget your ticket! Everything else is either common sense (water for the heat) or things you can do spur of the moment. As soon as you get to your site, meet neighbors, offer to help all those around you, take a few minutes to breathe it all in and do some exploring before the music starts. My first roo was also my first festival and it was all very shocking. Things don't work like they do in the real world. It's like a nice dream you don't want to wake up from. If you're a party person, pace yourself. There's so much to do and so much to see. Start slow when you wake up, drink lots of water, and take care of yourself in the heat. Build up energy all day and prepare yourself for the sun to go down and for you to be up until 4, 5, 6 in the morning having the time of your life.
Welcome to the boards and enjoy the long wait for june with us all!
1. PACE YOURSELF... it's a marathon not a sprint 2. hydrate hydrate hydrate 3. bring shade and prepare for rain 4. wander 5. baby wipes 6. eat a big corndog with a smoothie and a spicy pie 7. pick up your shizz 8. getting in early doesn't mean a better camping spot 9. get a good cooler 10. Have a dang good time
