"Worst Crisis Since '30s, With No End Yet in Sight"
This is a headline from a recent issue of the Wall Street Journal. A better explanation than a bad line up or they moved the event to the wrong place. Yes, these marketing decisions can effect the success of festival, but the fact that people are really hurting money wise is probably the main reason for the cancellation. This is why I don't think even Roo has the ability to sell out. This may be the fate of other smaller festivals this year. I don't scare easily, but this is the first time in my 44 years that I am. Take care of yourselves people.
I'm not suprised. I just didn't like anything that Langerado had done in preperation for this year...not the line up..or the venue. Then with the whole late lineup announcement it just all pointed to implosion.

First, I agree that this economy is truly scary. Very bad stuff for the average working folks like us.
Second, the Langerado decisions do matter in that people are more discriminating with their money in a time like this and they will not spent it on a sub-par festival and location.
You have to be pretty great to lure any remaining disposable income these days and that Langerado was NOT GREAT!
Doesn't surprise me nothing on that lineup makes me want to go there. Plus it is in downtown Miami with no camping lame f*** that. I suppose 'roo should grab Umphreys and Robert Randolph
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
You know the big problem with the miami location would have been all the money spent flying, and on hotels. I wonder how many people just got an expensive weekend vacation in Miami they don't want.
"Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made." Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Soul of Man Under Socialism
"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
I'm feeling pretty confident that if Langerado returns next year at Big Cypress it will be beyond awesome. Nothing like a massive FAIL to check yo head and make you return to your roots.
White Denim - 8/13-14 Power of the Riff - 9/1-2 Bruce Springsteen - 9/19 & 9/21 Gonjasufi - 9/24 Jay Z - 10/4 Animal Collective - 10/5 Swans - 10/10 GWAR - 10/16 New Order - 10/18 Squarepusher - 11/1 Bassnectar - 11/18 Neil Young & Crazy Horse - 11/27 Bonnaroo 2013 - ???

bah! on one hand i am excited i have the opportunity to go to more than one festival this spring/summer, on the other hand i am pissed i am also missing more than one festival
They shot themselves in their own foot by A. changing the location of the festival and B. making it a non camping shindig. With this economy does that really make sense??? geez
I'd have to find a buddy or two, no one I know wants to hit up anything but 'Roo this year. I'm seriously thinking about going it alone though, I've heard absolutely NOTHING but good things about Allgood. Plus their lineup is somewhat tailor made for me. Ugh, I wish I could just happen upon a big pile of money. It would be used for the sole purpose of seeing live music all summer long.

I'll go with you.
We're both in Alabama, and I really want to go! Seriously. :]

I may have to get with on that then, for real. I'm just gonna have to see how I can work this, financially.
