Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what went wrong for Langerado. I know they didn't sell enough tickets but in all of your opinions, what was the reasoning behind the sale shortage? Feel free to discuss or beg for roo to get their acts.
EDIT: I feel like all of these are a part of the reason for rado failing so I guess the poll is which of these do you think is the BIGGEST reason. Thanks to Garageland for using the ol' noggin.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
Combination of all of the above. No camping options in a very expensive city - during a depression, no less. Plus, the lack of a headliner worthy of suffering through it all.
Great point. I should have said which reason is the BIGGEST for Langerado failing. Anyone else who feels it is all equal, other covers that. This is more toward the biggest reason because I believe all of these things were taken in. Nice idea Garageland.
Nowhere to camp would be my main reason of not going, I liked their undercard a lot
oh and this
Why would a poll get locked? I'm not a message board expert and I only know a post will get locked if it is a repeat of something else. I do like the clip though

i put other cause its all of those reasons. the linup was weak not bad but not anywhere near last years. the city is not the best place for a fest and the no camping killed it for me.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

Definitely all had something to do with it. To pick out the biggest reason though... I am inclined to say the move to Miami during spring break, however Langerado was never always a camping festival, and apparently 2008 was just a change over to camping and that was my first experience. For me personally, once I saw the move it really didn't matter who was on the line up because I wasn't going.
I guess in the end they just failed to grab any quality enough acts to justify spending the money on the adventure. So I'm gonna go with a poor line up ultimately being the final straw for them.
But I really hate that it failed. I was really looking foward to going to Rado 09 when I thought it was going to still be a camping fest. I think a lot of people were. I heard such good stories from 08. I hate to see this one fail.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

I went to Langerado in '07 & '08, camping both years. '08 rocked it with everything being onsite like a festival is supposed to be! In '07, although I really enjoyed it I HATED the hassle & additional expense involved in getting to the night shows. Moving the festival to Miami, during peak season pretty much put the nail in Langerado's coffin for me. It really wouldn't have mattered who they brought on as headliners, camping is an intergral part of the whole package for me & hanging out in hotel rooms waiting for the show to start just isn't my idea of festival fun.
'08 was soooo awesome! especially it being in Big Cypress! I thought Langerado was going to elevate to near "bonnaroo" status. Not to say that still can't.
low ticket sales is an effect, not a cause, of all the bullsh!t that fest pulled on it's patrons in the last 24 months. moving to miami, one of the most expensive vacation destinations on the east coast, eliminating camping, and a truly dreadful artist lineup for this year were all to much to overcome all at once. the people revolted and took their money elsewhere. good to see blatantly money grubbing festival promoters take one in the cakes for once. this year would already have been "the festival formerly known as langerado". if it had actually happened, that is.
