You heard alot of Born To Run in my house growing up. It was one of the few things my parents could agree on. I loved Springsteen when I was young. He really was 'The Boss'. To hear the punk soul of Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out or the volume to 11 sound of Thunder Road, it didn't matter. Until Born In The USA came out ... I moved on to The Joshua Tree.
I was in my 20's before I revisited that record. Then I found another ... and another ... soon enough I found what would be one of my favorite records ever. Springsteen's catalog is pretty daunting. It's kinda hard to know where to start.
So pick 3.
1. Nebraska 2. Born To Run 3. Hammersmith Odeon London '75
I to would have voted for Darkness had something not bumped it out (Hammersmith). Such a wonderful record that Darkness is. In fact the one two punch of Badlands>Adam Raised A Cain is one of the best in recorded rock history.
