how in the world are they going to fit 10,000 people in the masquerade?
It is not in the Masquerade. The Masquerade has a big music park out back that most people don't know about. I saw Modest Mouse there 2 summers ago and Gigantour last year. They only started recently using it again in the last couple of years due to the noise ordinance being lifted.
The Masquerade Music Park...behind the Masquerade.
oh, right. i didn't even see that when i was there. but i heard they are also using all 3 inside stages, so the cut off for people they are allowing in is 4700. because that is all that can fit inside. also it will probably be too damn cold for an outside show in feb. what are they thinking?

Yes and Yes. I just got the schedule. They are using all 3 inside stages plus the music park. Where did you get the info for 4700? Metal fans could care less about the cold...

Definitely an awesome lineup but it sucks that once you're in, you can't leave. And if you get there after a certain number of people, you have to wait in line until someone leaves.
1pm Kylesa, 2pm Torche, 3pm Baroness, 4pm Boris, 5pm Harvey Milk, 6pm F*CK F*CK why is Rwake playing at same time as High on Fire???, 6:45pm Wolves in the Throne Room, 7:30pm Neurosis, 8:45 Coalesce, 9:30 Mastodon, 10pm Zoroaster, 11pm Converge...
Wow I can't believe I just typed out that schedule; I'm actually seeing these ONE AFTER ANOTHER IN A ROW: Kylesa, Torche, Baroness, Boris, Harvey Milk, Rwake / High on Fire, Wolves in the Throne Room, Neurosis, Coalesce, Mastodon, Zoroaster, Converge..... EPIC EPIC EPIC METAL DAY

Hmm... I don't think there is any time during the day where I could possible want to leave... just tooo much amazing metal jam-packed into one day

my schedule: 1-1:40-kylesa 1:40-2-evil army or apocalytpic visions 2-2:40-torche 2:40-3-salome 3-3:40-baroness 3:40-4-us christmas 4-4:50-boris 4:50-5:10-withered 5:10-5:40-pig destroyer 5:40-6-krallice 6-6:45-high on fire 6:45-7:45-wolves in the throne room 7:45-9-neurosis 9-9:20-nachmystium 9:30-11-mastodon 11-12-converge
My plan is on being at the Outdoor stage all day. Probably skip over some of the bands playing on that stage to get some rest so I don't wear myself out in seeing Boris and Mastodon.
^ no kidding. I didn't know anything about them and was blown away!
I gotta say, I was very impressed with the whole festival. No major logistical failures, good outdoor stage/tent setup (reminded me of the Roo), the weather cooperated, and there were great crowd vibes considering it was a metal show. And it was FREE!
i didn't go because of the weather. but i am going to get to see at least 3 of the bands i wanted to see soon in clubs. mastodon and kylesa are touring and torche is opening for dredg. so i'm not too upset about missing it. did mastodon play all of crack the skye? they're going to on their tour.
They played a couple of songs from it. But what I was most happy about is that they played some Remission tracks like Mother Puncher, Trainwreck, and Where Strides The Behemoth.

What all did they play from Leviathan?
My main gripe with the Bonnaroo set they played was the setlist only had one track from Leviathan and thats very un-Mastodon-like.

their set lists must be totally random. because when i saw them last oct. they played most of blood mountain, a few from leviathan and only march of the fire ants from remission.
From what I recall they played Seabeast, Aqua Dementia, and Megalodon. They played a well rounded show. A handful of songs from all their albums including their new one. It was a very enjoyable show.
Baroness was the bee's knees man. Great show. Neurosis was really good. Never heard their stuff before, but the show was real enjoyable.
Also I just found the setlist for the Mastodon show. Also it was March of The Fire not Where Strides The Behemoth. Plus I do believe they did play the entire album Crack The Skye. I didn't know first hand since I haven't heard the album, but should have known by the number of songs I didn't recognized.
