Instead of searching multiple threads I thought I might be able to get all of my questions answered right here.
We are coming from Chicago and we are probably going to be picking up friends from the airport in TN. Which is the closest airport that they should fly into? How far is it from Bonnaroo in terms of miles and time?
If we decide to just have them rent a car and meet us before we go in, where is the best place to do that? I have heard stories about the WalMart Parking lot. Would that be our best bet? Is there someplace else that you would recommend? How far is it from Bonnaroo in terms of miles and time?

the airport that most people fly into is Nashville (BNA), this is the airport the shuttle goes to and from. From there it takes about an hour to reach the farm. the walmart is right across the street from the farm, but you will have to meet up and then get into the line o' cars on the interstate.
if you don't require two cars worth of space for you and your friends, i'd suggest that they take the airport shuttle. and A. coordinate meeting up with you guys as you're setting up camp. OR B. you could park your car and then all meet/camp in tent only, where you'd most likely have more room if you arrive early on thursday... the shuttle would drop them off fairly closeby, but you'd have to huff your gear to them from wherever you are parked or vice versa if you choose option A
I agree with the ideas presented. Having them take the shuttle and meeting them at the campsite would likely be the easiest method. Or another idea I have heard done here befor is to park the car at BNA and take the shuttle. You could meet at the ariport and take the shuttle together, and bypass the mile long lines that you will face if you drive.
