Hi guys! I will be attending Bonnaroo for the first time this year, and I am very excited. My parents are alittle worried but they should be fine but I do have some questions hoping some of you can answer or give me some insight.
-are you assigned a camping spot or do you have to search for one? -should you shower everyday? or like brush your teeth every day? -should I bring food? I know they said bring water or a water bottle but I mean I dont know what kind of food to bring if any. -is it pretty relaxing not a whole lot of chaos going around? -besides bands, what else is there to do? -are the camp ground pretty much safe for the most part? -are things relatively close?
-are you assigned a camping spot or do you have to search for one? you can either park and set-up your tent in the tent-only section or you are given the space in front on your car for tent/chill area.
-should you shower everyday? or like brush your teeth every day? i have not 'showered' once since ive been. i take wet wipes for the sensitive and smelly areas, maybe a washcloth and soap for those areas, but a whole shower is all on you. i would recommend brushing your teeth, if for nothing else your own health.
-should I bring food? I know they said bring water or a water bottle but I mean I dont know what kind of food to bring if any. bringing small mostly non-perishable foods is a good idea for snacks/breakfast/anyother time you get hungry. there is food (great food) available for purchase at anytime if you decide not to bring any, but eating that all weekend CAN get pretty expensive.
-is it pretty relaxing not a whole lot of chaos going around? you choose your destiny here. its usually pretty chill with the occasionbal crazies running around. late night is when the freaks come out, mostly, but even still you can find nice places to chill and enjoy your time quietly.
-besides bands, what else is there to do? TONS!!!!! i dont even know where to begin here other than check the bonnaroo website for activities and arts and things. never a dull moment, must ride the ferris wheel though, its incredible!
-are the camp ground pretty much safe for the most part? i have never had a problem or really even heard of anything terrible happening. from my experience/hearsay there is very little theft, only heard of like 1 or 2 fights in the past 3 years....people at the roo are pretty respectful for the most part. more helpers than harmers.
-are things relatively close? once in centeroo i'd say yes. outside of that it can be as long as a 45 minute walk to centeroo from your campsite if you get stuck in BFE. however, there are port-o-johns EVERYWHERE.
hope this helps you some. also check links on the site for other new-roocomers help out threads.
Good questions, and Krizzeam gave you some awesome answers. My advice is to read, read and read some more. There is a ton of information available here on this message board. It's good to see that you are looking to go to Bonnaroo prepared, you will have a much more enjoyable time then someone just showing up.
Think of some more questions and post them, I'm sure you will get answers to your questions accurately information around here. Make check lists. Set your tent up a couple of times before you go. Maybe even once in the rain..

Just to add to the things being relatively safe part, theft of things from tents is fairly rare, but it does happen. It would probably be the worst thing you should worry about besides some random isolated incident. Thousands of tents to get lost in and most of them empty at busy times in Centeroo leaves plenty of opportunites for thieving assholes. If you have anything you really don't want to get stolen, either keep it on you or lock it up in your car. It's HIGHLY unlikely someone will mess with your vehicle. And take care to clean up around your campsite when you leave to go somewhere, and don't give them an invitation.
