I think the big difference here is what kind of GPS you have. A Nuvi (driving type) would not be the best to walk around with. You would need a hiking/biking type, like a Garmin GPSmap 60scx.
I think it would be fun to have it track your steps during the day to see how far you walk. Then download it to a computer.
the nuvi does have a pedestrian mode.i use mine for geocaching and such...im sure using it n ped mode all weekend wouldnt be an issue.they are all retty accurate these days.
I was considering bringing mine for the hell of it. I know my way around the farm pretty well, but I'm sure I'd like to mark campsites of friends and what not just to be sure. Plus I was thinking about setting up a geo cache somewhere on the farm.
I was thinking about setting up a geo cache myself... I'm afraid I'd get too blitzed and loose my GPS though
I brought mine last year and marked our campsite so we could find it this year and revisit
but I didnt walk around with it, mostly bc I didnt want to lose it. The farm is pretty easy to get around on, I would say it'd only be worthwhile if you have a campsite that's out of the way and you need it to get home at night. But then again, like dude above says - then you're maybe a little out of sorts ( ) and trying to use an electronic device at 3 am... could be tricky.
