Anyone have any experience using these...i'm looking at the one below...the only real problem i have with it is all the excess water...i've looked at some cheaper ones for around 30-40 bucks but with all of them you need something to hang them from...and from what i remember there weren't too many trees around to use
They are not worth it for a place like this. I have one that we use when we are camping, but not at Bonnaroo. The biggest thing is you have to fill the bag. And 5 liters is heavy. and most poeple aren't camped right nest to a POD. So fo you really want to be lugging the bag back and forth. Just use the water stations if you need to bath. It's cold but refreshing. And if you go in the morning its like a party.
This will be my 5th Bonnaroo and my first year bringing a camping shower so I cnat be much help as far as directing you where to go as I am still looking for one myself, but the setup seems easy and I would use cooler water to fill the bag. The ground is dry enough that it will just soak in most of it.
Some people hang the shower bags from their cars in a strategic way or have someone hold it up for them (We took turns doing this last year), but mostly people get the shower shelters. You have to use discretion, because there may be some water run-off that will piss off the people around you. We were lucky to be in a level area with lots of empty space around us, especially when our yuppie neighbors packed up on Saturday. Lots of people use them, just don't be taking three showers a day or anything because you might flood your camp! Yes, 5 liters is damn heavy. We were lucky enough to be a three minute or less walk from the water station. I didn't fill the bag all the way because I knew I wouldn't use that much water before we left. I would bring one and then use your best judgment on it. If nothing else, you'll have a nice private place to stand upright and change your clothes or give yourself a naked baby wipe rub down.
I've been looking into that exact shelter because it's large enough for a shower and a portable toilet for late night emergencies. We've all been through it. It's squat by your car, piss yourself, or walk all the way to the portajohns. I want to eliminate the need for such decisions this year!

I bought that exact shower for 'roo last year, and was too much effort to keep from collapsing on the less-than-level ground. Best advice is to make shift with wipes and such. There are always the showers available there in case of a hygienic emergency

We have one that comes with every year. There's room in tent only for it and the water is absorbed/evaporated very quickly. I only take one rinse while I'm there, but it's well worth it to me. I find the rinse invigorating.
You can get one with a pump. It runs on 4 D batteries, you don't have to hang it from anything. I think a shower at bonnaroo is a great thing, it wakes me up.

I brought a shelter last year but the damn bag was too heavy for the hook in it and just basically collapsed the darn thing and this was with it only half way full. I was pissed had to prop it up on the car..sort of worked ok...not great need a different plan this year.. It IS refreshing to be able to rinse off Obviously should have tested it beforehand..the shelter was new the shower bag I'd had and used for years camping and at fests with trees ;D For water I just bring a 7gal jug with me more than plenty for the whole weekend, no hauling water around for me. I also was thinking about last night/early morning bathroom trips but never even ended up needed it for that.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

one of my friends bought one last year and brought it... it was really neat until we got the nagging suspicion someone was pissing in it.. it totally reeked by Saturday. ugh.
And of course with a group of 12 people, no one would confess.
I told him not to leave it, but I'm thinking he left it at the campsite.
I have a solar shower thing that works well, you just have to hang it from somewhere and it gets the job done, especially if you want a "hot" shower...

Don't have to hang it from anything? How does it work? Can you link me up???
I've been curious and seriously looking into a shower of some sort. Past two years I went without one but I think I would have much more stamina if I had one, and with this year's line up.... well yeah, I think I'm gonna need as much stamina as I can get. Would it work well to put a tarp under it, so as to not disturb neighbors? That's one thing I'm really worried about, don't wanna soak anyone's camp. And collapsing? Those of you who take 'em every year, how do you organize your set up so they don't collapse? Also, how long do they normally run? Anyone with answers will receive karma and uber appreciation!
