Well I broke down and ordered a misty mate a few weeks ago, but never received it. After calling the company yesterday they informed me that my order had been canceled as they were sold out. Anyone know any stores that carry the item, preferably in Northern NJ.
I can't remember who found them, but go to the dollar store, in the gardening section. They have pressurized watering bottles for plants there. CHEAPER than MistyMates! Work the same. I'd imagine that a lot of gardening places would have them too. I'll take a look around for that thread and come back to post it if I find it.
Drat. Can't find the thread. Might have been hatched during the thread loss time period. It was pretty recent. Anyway, what Meg says. And I also saw a pretty old school regular spray bottle with a fan on it in the dollar bin, last Sunday, at the local Target. If you have a Target, you could always try double duty there. Check the dollar bin and check the gardening section (and the fan/pool section, like Meg says).

I started the thread about the sprayers. I found mine for $2.50 at DOLLAR GENERAL. I also found one for cheap at FRED'S DOLLAR STORE. Don't know if they have Fred's where you are. Try your local dollar store in the lawn and garden aisle.
They have green handles, green spout with a brass fitting on the tip where the water comes out and a clear body.
I tried to find the original post but couldn't. I'll keep trying and post the link if I succeed.

I bought on in NJ last year at Walgreens, in their seasonal aisle for like $5. A great investment, I kept misting people last year ... made them smile.

I actually prefer the spray bottle to the Misty Mate. If find the spray from the bottle to be more refreshing than the Misty Mate. Also, a quick turn of the knob converts it to a short range water pistol
I like a SqueezBreez...misting and a fan in one. CVS and WalMart usually have them.
This is more along the lines of what Ill bring but do Misty Mate make smaller more compact versions? the only one Ive ever seen are the fanny pack lookin ones seem too big to be luggin around

Don't get the cheap ones! They suck! I took two to Bonnaroo 2008 and I got about 6 sprays out of them before they f@cked up.

Ah ok those are cool. I was imagining a bunch of people running around Roo with these fanny pack looking things. I was thinking that doesnt seem very efficient lol.
