Hey there and welcome! To post pics, above the reply field there should be a series of icons. The one with the picture frame one it is for images. Click that and it will place the HTML code in your text, then just put the URL for the image within that code. A shortcut is just to manually input the code yourself... it looks like this (replacing {} with [] ):
{img}www.yourimage.com/yourimage.jpg{/img}
To add an avatar, at the top of the screen there's a menu which includes "profile". Click on that, then from there click on "modify profile". You can do a ton of stuff there, including adding an avatar (just paste the image's URL where they ask for it).

thanks guys...as for the avatar i keep on trying to use a facebook picture and it doesn't show up...not sure if it has to be from somewhere else or what

Oh yeah, I had to take my preggo Sister-in-Law to the ER and then school and I was working and whatnot. I took some Sominex and laid down for about 2 hours when I first got home.... and that's all I did was lay there. It's normal. I'll probably be able to pass out here in the next few hours. That's usually how it happens. Around 30 I get a headache and then things get a little hazy
