2008 Camp Hansel - heck of a walk 2009 Darth Vader - someone took down the fence next to us so it was only 10 mins in. I wouldn't mind that again.
wow, i was in vader last years as well...right next to the downed fence, at the top of the hill and in the shade of the 53' trailer. got in interstate traffic around 8am thursday morning, waited 6hrs and change but the spot was great. i can only hope it happens again this year but the chips may not fall that way...

anyone know where guest parking is? i got a media pass and a guest parking pass and was told that area is seperate from general camping....is it where vendor's camp? anyone know where that is?

I'm coming from Delaware, and am hoping to get a good spot...It's my (and my cousins) first Roo, and I'm super stoked...I just don't want to get stuck way out in the middle of nowhere...So, If I get there Wednesday night/super early Thursday, will I have better luck being closer to the action??

Thanks Ellie! It's been an interesting month trying to get all this planning in order... I also wanted to know if since myself and my one cousin bought our tix separate from my other cousin, isn't she entitled to her own site? I'm hoping that since we are riding together, that when we get there, we will have 2 sites combined for lots of room and two tents.
the GA sites aren't set in size..it's done by car but if you just talk to your neighbors, they say that you can figure out how to make room. it's not by the number of people but by cars...the cars just drive in, you dont have painted spaces or anything, and you stake out your territory once you get out. I know I haven't been, but all you gotta really do is work it out with your neighbors...maybe even if you become friends with them, then you guys can link up canopies or something for better shade. who knows.

If you only have one car, don't plan on having a lot of space. You are only alloted the space behind your car, ten feet out by the width of your car. You don't get extra space for having multiple people in your car.
Yeah. It's my 1st roo! I think it makes it harder to believe I'm going when it's my 1st time. Hard to believe it's only 2 weeks away, pretty much.
I actually got a spot with the Fuse contest, so they make me fly down on Thurs and back up on Sun. So lucky for me, i dont ever have to leave Centeroo unless I wanna shower or hang out there by choice (see friends/pod art/shakedown).
I wish they'd release the map ahead of time. They put it on the phone app, right? I think I heard that, but i dunno if they'll make an android app.

Approo---That stinks When we bought our tix, it said that for each purchase of tix, a campsite was given...since we bought our tix separately, we had hoped to have a larger area...My tent is def too big for just one spot...so, I would gather that trying to get other people we know that are going to caravan with us would be the best bet for getting more space??

Lauren, are you in VIP or GA? If you're in GA, like it was said above, you have the width of your car x 10 ft. If you have people to caravan with you, it's a good idea so you can stretch out your site a bit.
If you're in VIP, the spots are much larger. Just get out of your car immediately upon parking and, if you're lucky, you can set up the bigger stuff (ez up) before they park someone behind you.

The parking people are going to try to make you park RIGHT next to the car that parked before you. That leaves very little space between you and your neighbors.
Swing wide and leave as much space between you and your neighbor as seems reasonable. The parking guy might give you some grief, but just park and throw out your tarps to stake out your territory.

OK, so I just read for the first time above that the GA spots are only supposed to be 10' behind your car and the length of your car? This kind of freaks me out b/c our ez-up is 12x12... is this going to be a huge problem for us? I mean, we're more than happy to share shade with the neighbors...

I guess I'm gonna have to flirt with the parking guy because we're carpooling(which Bonnaroo is doing a contest for people that carpool yet wont give them extra space, that's a little messed up),but we're also probably going to be in handicap camping, which one would think would have more space.

Sometimes you can get lucky and the people next to you take all their stuff to tent only. In that case you get all the space in front of their car also! That has happened to me twice and we had more than enough room for 2 tents and a 10x10 shade tent.

I've always gone with a caravan so no space problems...but this year i'm solo (volunteering) so probably gonna have to skip the 10'x20' shade tarp though...maybe put it over the car? hmm...
