Staying up for four days sounds impossible, but I don't think at the 'Roo. Can't you sleep the other 361 days of the year? So, it got me wondering if anyone stayed up the whole time. Where you on anything to help you stay awake? Energy drinks, coffee, speed??
I'm wondering if it's possible, because I don't want to miss a thing.

I'd highly suggest that you pace yourself. Every Roo there's thousands of people who overdo it in thousands of ways. Staying up 4 days straight, partying in the sun isn't good for you.
Last year I slept for 12 hours during the entire weekend, so I'm not saying you need to get your beauty rest or anything. Just pace yourself so you don't wind up spending the weekend in the hospital from heat exhaustion/dehydration/brownacid.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

I stayed up all weekend at a different fest in FL back in 99, Like augustwest said, it doesn't take long for the deleriousness to settle in at a festival. By the last day i was insanely exhausted n passed out in the mud also was off schedule the entire following week. Even though it sounds like a good way to enjoy more of Roo, i would advise not to and try to get a few hours a night. AND like i've said in another thread Regenerative Meditation is the sweestest gift you can teach yourself, your body and mind will thank you.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

Last year, being my first time, I didn't pace myself well, so for me, I basically got sleep when I passed out. LoL! This year, I'm going to make sure I don't overdo everything, go to the last night shows, pass out by 5, and hopefully get going at around 11. That gives me enough time to shower, eat, and start up the day.

One thing about the sleep situation at Bonnaroo: Day naps are your friend.
You will most likely be up till at least 3 or 4 am.. Or 6 or 7 am, if you happen to be a certain someone who got lost for about 3 hours after Mars Volta (it was bright as day when I finally made it back). Haha, good times.
But anyways, you probably won't sleep much when it's dark out, so during the day if you're ever bumming around the campsite or just chilling in the grass in centeroo, take a nap. If you're feeling tired, just take a nap whenever or where ever you want. The best stuff happens at night, so sleep during the day.
Don't go crazy on Friday night, because you'll be sore and dead tired the next day. Everyone says just pace yourself, and that's good advice.
Also, shoes are also your friend. The first year I just wanted to relax and wear sandals the entire weekend, but you're going to be doing so much walking that you're gonna get blisters if you leave your sandals on the whole time. Of course, some people are different, but I am just speaking from personal experience. So DON'T FORGET YOUR SHOES!!!!

Centeroo naps have been how i've gotten the vast majority of my sleep each year. It's alot easier to nod off with a band playing nearby, than having to listen to 30(+) people's drunkenly enthusiastic conversations at camp.
I usually have no trouble sleeping at Roo, im so tired that when I lay down im out quick. I usually wake up at 6:30 when the sun comes up and starts baking my tent! Sometimes I nod off in the chair at camp in the middle of the day.

are sleeping pills a bad idea? it seems like ppl have a lot of trouble falling a sleep w/ the heat and light, would it be bad to take some sleeping pills around 4 am, get back to your tent around 5 am and then just have an energy drink around 11? i've never really used sleeping pills so dunno if itd work like that.

I got about 3 hours of sleep per night last year. stayed up to see the sun rise each morning. I didn't have any problems while at Roo, but the drive home was terrifying! I don't know how I didn't get in a wreck on the interstate; I kept nodding off and I was driving alone. Won't do that again. Have some sort of plan to get home if you are going to skimp on your sleep.

God, the same thing happened to me. When we first left after a little bit I had to have a freind drive because I was nodding bad. Then when I hit WV found a nice little rest stop there and just parked and slept fo rlike 2 hours before I went on my way.
i'm going where the sun keeps shining, thru' the pouring rain, going where the weather suits my clothes. backing off of the north east wind, sailing on summer breeze, and skipping over the ocean like a stone.
