I was wondering if anyone has any other info on Beale Street this year. After last years Sunday line up where i got to see (Pete Francis of Dispatch, Umphrey's, Spearhead, OAR, and then the Black Crowes) all on one stage on one day im ITCHIN' to know what they've got in store for this year!! Other than CoS, anyone got any info on it??
yeah ive been checkin that and CoS daily! Pollstar too. im really wanting a awesome line up this year. I know that Fall Out Boy tour is rollin through Beale and Julian Marley is gonna make 4 Marley's for me! And im soo pumped that 311 might play!!
^^^ What she said.....Some little drunk girl decided that the best way to see around my girlfriend (who is 5'3") last year was to grab her by the ponytail. Worst crowd and vibe ever.
Hopefully they'll have a decent line-up this year. Jambase so far just has Steve Miller Band and a few blues acts. I wish they would get Neil Young to headline. He is playing @ the New Orleans Jazz Fest after all, and both festivals often share a lot of acts.
seriously a complete and utter joke. Every stage has crap sound, the people suck, it is overrun with drunken idiots, and teeny boppers, the layout is horrendous. I hate BSMF with a passion. It is everything wrong with festivals. You'd think the promoters would learn from Bonnaroo with it being only 270 miles away, but I have to believe that the promoters are only in it for the money at this point, b/c the festival has consistently sucked for 10 years now.

BSMF is a "rinkydink" music festival. However, I have been ther quite a few times because I could not afford Roo (or anything similar) at the time. I agree, most of the people there do suck! Horrible vibe... and Rain or Shine doesn't apply even though the tickets reflect that it does. On the other hand, I first heard Derek Trucks Band, Jerry Lee Louis, Gov't Mule and The Allman Brothers LIVE on the same stage in a row there in 07. Bela Fleck and Johnny Lang were what I remember most from my first time there in 98. I love sunset on the River with the I40 (new) Bridge in the background. While this fest does have its faults, I still love it for sentimental reasons. The lineup dictates if I will return. I believe they release said lineup at the begining of March.
the past few years there has been a bit of overlap between artists at bsmf and bonnaroo. i've been using it to see some bands i know i won't have time for at 'roo. helps a little with scheduling conflicts.
yes the crowd and weather generally suck, but i can't beat the convenience. it's just across the street.
I remember seeing some really good line-ups in the early and mid 90's, now its just the same old casino reject crap. I usually dont even go when I get offered free tickets....way to many red-neck teens waiting to get there Hinder/NIckelback/3 doors down fix. They need to get less bands and up the quality and allow them to have longer set times. Back in the 90's (early) the stages backed up to the river and people could sit on the bluff. It made for the perfect view

I am kind of surprised they were able to book Snoop, Al Green, Elvis Costello, and Ben Harper being so close to Bonnaroo in proximity and date.

Yap, the lineup is weak. I was/still am pretty disappointed. I guess I'll go sit at Silky's on Saturday and listen to Barbra Blue. She will be better than the majority of the acts at the fest.
