07 was my first Roo and damn, I had the Roo flu afterward... hacked up dust for weeks... bronchitis and sinus infection....
Last year (08) the rain during MMJ was pretty hardcore off and on. I had a poncho but felt like I was freezing from the rain. The next day we wore our galoshes just in case we ran into puddles (we know about the puddles from every year at memphis in may beale street music festival). Always pack some galoshes just in case! You never know when they will come in handy.
Who has the pics of the 2005 mini-tornados? There are some great shots of people's tents circling above the campsites. 2005 wind was crazy Saturday night. 2004 was the monsoon that no one is prepared for for 2009. We're due for a very rainy Bonnaroo.

Dont jinx it man. Im hoping the weather is like last year, a little bit of rain but not enough to turn the place into a mud pit and not too hot. Those pics of 04 look horrible, I think if it was like that the whole time it would really ruin the experience.
I predict rain this year.. I actually enjoy a little rain, Jack Johnson in 05 was my most memorable 'Roo show.. Just as he started singing the first line in Banana Pancakes "can't you see that it's just raining?" it did, literally start raining, and continued to on and off for the rest of the show. A comfortable rain. As long as it doesn't get muddy, I welcome the rain!

rain rant: - i made the mistake at allgood 07 to not close my tent alll the way. then it rained. then we went back and everything in the tent was soaked. all of our stuff. thankfully i had some paper towels and a towel towel and we soaked up all the water just come prepared... then, this one time at langerado 08, it rained so hard and it was so windy that my tent blew away after late night sts9. i was panicky - almost to tears but thankfully the boys i was campin with helped me. it was a few campsites away - up against a car. with all my stuff in it. i had to weigh it down with a couple cases of beer. rain boots, a hoodie or a poncho and a warm change of clothes.
i actually love the sound of the rain on my tent when im in (if its not like monsooning) and if it rains in the morning you can sleep in nice and late
and in 07, i was in a RV - and that dry heat was still the worse thing ever. i had the bonnaflu for good 3 wks after

'02 and '03 were frikken HOT. There were brief, welcome showers. '04 it rained A LOT. Kind of dampened the weekend for me honestly. Affected how I prepared for future Roos. '05 and '06 I remember as being pretty ideal. One or two showers moving through, nothing drastic.
I didn't go the last two years, but '07 sounds nasty. It seems like the two biggest situations were '04 rain-mud and '07 dust. Can anyone confirm if it was extra hot in '02-'03 or was that just me being young and unprepared?
Anyway, based on '04 I will always have some rain prep. Big rubber boots, shoes that won't come off in mud, parkas etc.

I HATE humidity. I found it impossible trying to sleep after that rain on Saturday last year. If anything id rather it not rain, but be damp enough that we don't end up with a dust bowl.

'02-'03 were the hottest ever. I'm not sure if it was temp or humidity or both but, does it matter? It was so hot those years I could hardly sleep at night and I was outside on a cot roasting.
It rained both nights in '03 if I remember, due to the humidity, and it was still hot.
In '04 I was expecting the same and didn't bring any blankets and it got chilly after the monsoon on Sat. I near froze as our canopy collapsed in the storm and everything was wet and I was on the cot outside again. Thank you neighbors from Maine who lent me a blanket.
TN is gonna be hot but temps the last couple years have been nice for TN in June. And the humidity has not been so bad either.

Yes, 02 especially was hot.
And becca, that Langerado 08 storm was seriously the first time I've been scared of the weather at a festie. 04 and 07 Roos were nasty, but the rado 08 storm was actually scary.

Yes, yes! I was at that show and agree. I had my trusty, mini umbrella, so it was perfect. The weather all weekend in 2005 was perfect. It was so overcast one day that I was actually able to sleep in my car with the windows up until 1:00 pm the following day. 2004 was so muddy it was miserable!!! ...until 2007! I, too, had the Bonnaflu upon my return. I was sooo sick for weeks. I pray for at least a little drizzle.

Well I've been to the last 3 roos and have to say that last year was my fav! 06 was hot as hell and didnt rain, 07 was dust-o-roo-, last year it rained but it wasnt that bad really. It was the first time I got to sleep in till like 12 at roo! lol

I think that wind during the day was bonnaroo 06. I was right in the middle of that crap in 06 and it was halarious. All my stuff was down good so nothing blowed away but to see tents rolling around like crazy and flying 100s of feet up in the air was halarious!

Last year was just perfect imo.
I didn't even realize the dust was that bad in 07 until I saw photos when I got home. I have asthma and bad allergies and it had no effect on me whatsoever....... If didn't bother my teenage daughter either.

I would welcome a little rain, especially after dustaroo 07. I had the Bonnaflu sooo bad, which sucked double because I called in sick to work that Thursday and Friday to go to Bonnaroo. I came back and was really, really sick for 2 weeks.
