From what I heard, it was hit or miss when finding a taxi. Some people said after the headliners it was almost impossible to get one. We just used them to haul our stuff back and forth from the car to tent-only. We "rented out" the entire taxi each time since we took up all of the seats, and it was $20 each time (totally worth it).

these have been at Waka the past two years as well. We had some awesome rides last year. I love how they each have to decorate their own taxi. Awesome idea. They just go from fest to fest and save our feet for us! Cheers to you mr. fest taxi driver!!!
These were at AllGood last year, first time I'd ever seen them at a fest (didn't do Roo last year). Is there anything official saying they'll be at Bonnaroo this year?

The shuttles at waka were pretty great, I hated the huge hill to get to the main stage area.
as someone who was in Camp M last year (see map, Camp M=BFE), the taxis were worth every ride. We never had a problem getting one, as they were all camped/parked/stationed in our BFE area.
After the headliners, it wasn't that hard to get one - they park right near the General Store (near the Main Centeroo entrance) and they'd ask where you were headed, and then group you with other people going to the same place. then you'd hang out until one came back - we waited anywhere from 30 seconds, to 5 minutes. When your walk back is 45 min, it was noooo problem waiting around. Esp if you're in the separate camp, and the "shortcut" entrance closes at 12:30, and it's 4am and you're dog tired.
The drivers were pretty cool too - they decorate their "pony" and also wear matching attire. My favorite was the dude who's taxi was decorated all in Magic Kingdom stuff, and he wore giant white mickey mouse hands. Loved it.

I personally think the taxis were not a good idea. Why? I personally almost got run over by one.
If the guy behind me didn't scream 'watch out!' and I didn't react as fast as I did.... my Roo 08 would have been much different. I did, however, see the mounties spring into action and chase the taxi down. That was impressive, those draft horses can freakin' move when asked to.
Turns out someone had stolen the cart as was 'joy riding'.
I think that the rule of not having anything move faster than a walking pace is perfect for roo. If I can't bring my bike, you can't bring a motorized skateboard, they shouldn't provide anything either. I don't think it's safe.

my girlfriend is very complaining oriented, so after two days of her bitching about the heat and the long walks, we used one everytime. totally worth it. i hope they return this year, just with more of them.
I think you should return without your girlfriend. Or take her to All Good and make her walk up those two hills for three days. She won't be complaining about Bonnaroo any more.

i didn't utilize them in '08 b/c of where i was camped, but if i so happen to end up in BFE this year, you best believe i will be taking a taxi every time i head to/from centeroo.
