Ok well it has taken me some time to build up the courage to ask, buuuuut does this happen to anyone else at roo. For the last two Roos, I get the a serious case of the bonna-craps. I am starting to wonder if its all the beer that I drink. Now I do try to drink tons of water and such, but we drink tons of beer, eat just like everyone else I am with, and by sat, I am searchin for that clean porta, like theres no tomorrow.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

Two things, First, just because a question has been asked doesn't mean it can't be asked again..... does it? Who wants to wade through every post ever just to find out if someone else has had the craps? Second: to answer about the craps, it's probably the CHEAP beer. Natty light, PBR, Bud light..... plus carnival food: Gyro's, funnel cakes, and french fries, oh my! Stick to Dales, Guiness, etc. and food from home. You'll be alright and not have to visit the plastic throne more than you usually destroy the porcelain throne.

Actually - funny thing is - there are various thread related to crapping at Bonnaroo but none posed the question of what could possibly be causing it or asks for recommendations for ways to stop it from happening.
Pisgah - the following is NOT directed at you but rather at tyler1077
Besides - if you check - it was asked by an "old timer" and answered by an "old timer" Not that we know anything more then anyone new to Inforoo but it stands to reason that we would know if there was a thread that specifically pertained to this subject
'specially someone like me who wastes ALOT of time on Inforoo

I do read this thread too often, and always look around before I start a new thread. I probably would not have asked the question if it was another board, but everyone here has gone through one thing or the other and may have some insight.

The only thing I know is alot of times when a micro brew is chilled then warmed then chilled again something happens to it . It turns or something like that anyway ,add to that the semi cooked grease coated food offerrings and you have a good healthy case of omg get out of there now NO NOT TOMMORROW BUT NOW .
actually the reverse tends to happen to me. I think its probably from where I go from eating good stuff (well, relatively) to eating stuff like jerky and festival food.
Any new water can cause intestinal disturbances. The variation in chemicals used to purify it can have unpredictable effects.
And Roo has well water which contains a small amount of naturally occuring sulfur and magnesium. This is the same stuff that is in Epson Salts, a mild laxative. Usually it is low enough so it does not affect a person but it can affect people who are VERY sensitive to these compounds.
Let me reiterate that 99%+ of people will have no problems with this type of water but some can.

Woah!! I forgot about that, I know that I am allergic to sulfa and potentially have bad reactions to sulfur...I wonder....hmmm this and beer....

See all my buddies who are agains going call bonnaroo Bonnapoo as a derogatory statement about the smell and how people dont shower and all. So I went with bonna-craps to not hurt anyones feelings

i am allergic to sulfa as well and the water at roo never makes me poo. although, every time i read a "poop" thread i do get that urge.
Okay, let me use my normally useless chemistry knowledge to clear of a misconception. Naturally occurring sulfur and sulfa druqs have little in common.
Sulfa, or sulfanomide (see structure of one sulanomide below), does contain sulfur, but the sulfur atoms are imbedded in a complex molecule. The sulfur atom is not the allergenic agent and being allergic to sulfa druqs does not imply having a propensity to allergy to other sulfur compounds.
The sulfa druqs are usually not allergenic by themselves, but when a sulfonamide molecule is metabolized in the body, it is capable of attaching to proteins, thus forming a larger molecule that can serve as an allergen. Thus, the allergy is not to the original drug, but to a drug-protein complex.
The sulfur and magnesium in well water can form small amounts of Magnesium Sulfate (MgSo4) which is a mild laxative.
Just some hopefully helpful, if needlessly over complicated, info.
Class dismissed. There will be a quiz on Monday.

im pretty sure this is false, the beer part i mean. the local liquor store has a sign in front of the microbrew section that specifically says allowing a beer to warm after it has been chilled and then chilling it again has no affect on the beer.
Troo- You make me chuckle. didn't know you were a chemistry Major!
You are probably suffering from the little buggies in the tap water at Roo. Troo is right, even if you are allergic to Sulfer, the water probably isn't AS clean as you are used to in the city.

Well water is fucking GROSS. I can't stand to drink it, I personally bring enough bottled water to last me the whole weekend for whatever I will need. Which is just drinking usually but I do brush my teeth with it in the mornings as well.
I've always thought the well water was fine. The sulfur smell is barely noticeable to me, if noticeable at all. I always drink it in Centeroo. But maybe that's just me.
And, yes soulmate, I have a MS in Chem Engr; 18 semesters of chemistry and/or chemistry related courses. Glad to get to use it every now and again.

I didn't think the well water was all that bad, I think people overhype the bad smell/taste. Honestly, the worst part of it for me by far was the smell in the troughs. After that, I barely noticed any difference between that and regular tap water, except for a bit of a metallic aftertaste.
