I have no idea about how Arcade Fire treats their crew, but I wouldn't take anything Wayne has to say too seriously. He can be kind of a weiner sometimes...
And honestly, if Sting and Bob Dylan can be invited to the farm, I don't think being a dick matters.

The one time I saw Arcade Fire they were incredibly interactive and generous to the crowd. Win told a story about the last time they were in Philly and Ethiopian food and vomiting. I really have no idea what Wayne is talking about with the crowd thing. I love Wayne, but he's a headcase sometimes.
i'm not an expert here but i think i know where wayne could be comin from. 2007, one of my good friends went to a festival in spain i think it was and he and one his buddies had backstage passes for the fest. he said that when arcade fire was setting up, wayne tried to go up on stage for some reason, idk if it was to give a hand or just to meet some people, but he wasn't allowed up and came back with his tail between his legs. after that my friend went up to wayne said hello, introduced himself and pretty much talked with him and steve for a good remainder of the night. when arcade fire was ready to play, they came out their trailer played their set, and went directly back to their trailer without saying hey to anyone backstage... fans, musicians, anyone. now it was my friend who told me that he himself thought Arcade Fire were d!cks and not wayne.... but reading this article... i was not really surprised. i'm a huge Lips fan. listened to Neon Bible once and didnt like it... so i cant call myself an arcade fire fan obviously. SO yeah i'm naturally going to side with Wayne on this one... but i really dont see the need for Wayne to keep starting publicity sh!t with all the musicians he doesnt like.
Musicians are just like any other people. They get bad blood or whatever with each other. The only difference is, when it happens with musicians, there are journalists waiting to publish it. I wouldn't let a squabble change my opinion on either Arcade Fire or Wayne.
All's I know is that when I was standing at Flips at Roo 07 and he stopped Yoshimi THREE FREAKING TIMES because the crowd wasn't loud enough, or whatever, at the final pause he starts babbling about the "sphere of life" (I'll never forget... some of the most retarded stuff I've ever heard anyone say, in all seriousness, in person), to which I just say aloud "What the fuck is he babbling about?"
I can tell you for sure that I wasn't alone in my feeling, as there were multiple people around me who either agreed or laughed.
Anyway, Arcade Fire is awesome, Flips are overrated, Wayne's an idiot, so I don't take anything he says seriously.
Sorry, just had a random memory of that "Roo Moment" he was trying to make.
