Agreed...But also...isn't that a part of the concept of a message board dispite the redundance...for people to make there own threads about what they're excited for. They could have something like...myspace's comment approvals...only based on new threads

My bad on the last..apologies go a long way with me..so, im sorry for bein a dick..I don't make to mant threads..didn't see one on jam bands..but..whatever
It's an art, not a science. I usually try to keep it relatively in check. We aren't gonna be able to please everyone, so just know that we're doing our best, but some things will inevitably fall through the cracks.
If there is one that particularly offends you just PM a mod. I have never had any trouble after doing that. This board has just caught a lot of new members this year, and I am sure it is hard to deal with it all. Also lets be fair posting IBTL pictures is a pretty fun way to teach our new members the rules without running them off.
I was looking at another proboards festival board the other day, and that thing is so heavily modded, by one individual that it seems oppressive to me. The other thing that would help is if the vets would just stop posting in the redundant threads, with the exception of IBTL pics.
^^^I have avoided the Troo Music Lounge for that very reason - I just stuck my head in there for the first time in a while and had to slowly back away...
This is one of the toughest times of the year since we have a lot of new people joining and posting. I thought there was an automatic PM that explained the rules of the board and what not. I will look into that.
Well Christ man, just make me a mod and let me unleash the banhammer on a few folks! I'll be locking threads and booting people so fast your head'll spin! We'd whip this place back up to shape in no time. F*ck sending polite little PMs, let's start chopping heads!

I agree it needs cleanup.
I understand completely that it's a long and boring job to do and I appreciate everything all the mods do (and have done)....but something's gotta be worked on in that section.
Looking at it now there are:
2 threads about coachella acts a thread about Rothbury being canceled a thread about wakarusa lineup a thread about mountain jam lineup
then there's a thread for every artist who people want added. yo gabba gabba, peter gabriel, jay-z guest star kanye west, what surprises could they have, etc.
There's a whole lot of threads that don't necessarily need to be there. There can easily be one "Crossover Acts" to discuss acts that other festivals have and Roo may get - we don't need one for each festival.
Again.....I understand it's a tedious and boring job and I know that it's usually only this time of the year. I just wish there was less clutter.
Thats my fault. I shoulda thought a little more first. If it needs locking, please by all means do.
And I'd vote for Juggs, too.
No need to apologize and please don't get me wrong. It wasn't a bad idea for a thread. It's just that, after you created it for mountain jam crossover acts.....we started seeing coachella and rothbury ones. And then it starts happening over and over.
You had a good idea for creating discussion/speculation, it's just that your idea spawned more of the same idea and before you know it we have 5 threads talking about acts from other festivals who we want/may get.
Everyone's a critic. That forum is not gonna be spit and polished, cause no matter what we do in there it'll upset people. We don't mod it enough, people get pissed. We mod it too much, we're being nazis. I think it's fine. Sorry if we don't get to locking and moving things quick enough for some folks. It's the way things are. It's the way things will be.

Even if I get slightly irritated with the situation, it is nowhere near as irritated as I would get if you actually made jugs a moderator .

Some information to consider via Wikipedia...
"Once in motion, the Juggernaut is physically unstoppable, does not tire from physical activity and is able to survive without food, water or oxygen."
He would be a machine if he was a moderator. He can clean up the Lounge without food, water, and oxygen! Are you kidding me?
"The character, however, is vulnerable to mental attacks, a weakness that has been exploited via the removal of his helmet. The Juggernaut has circumvented this weakness by on occasion wearing a metal skullcap inside his main helmet."
As long as Jugs, has a metal skullcap inside to block mental attacks from new members posting ridiculous, unrelated threads that deserve banishment, he has my vote.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
^Unfortunately if the mods are sometimes a bit light handed, I think you would have a propensity for being a little heavy handed, and I prefer it the way it is. Honestly it is not like they are not locking ten plus threads a day.

Wolfman, you're being short-sighted. That place would be clean like a fresh shave and smooth like a baby's backside in no time at all. Just think - no more endless topics like "PHISH SHOULD BE THERE AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!!!" and "Kayne West!!!11 with JAYZ." No more trolls ruining threads by starting arguments just for the sake of it. No more inane arguments over who sucks more, KOL or DMB. Just a clean, viable, workable forum where we can actually discuss the music of the festival, without all the garbage.
Think about it. That's the Juggernaut promise.
A Vote For Juggernaut Is A Vote For You!
I think that pretty much ends your campaign for Mod, Juggs.
I think the threads you have issues with are part of what makes this board what it is. The fact the we are generally light handed mods in the first place makes this a great msg board...
Well to be fair, I have just in the past couple of days been able to spend a bit more time on here and have been trying to look around at things the best I can. (I got that DMB thread nuked today, but not before you were IBTL)
But, if you look back at this thread, there have only been maybe 5 or 6 people (I didnt count, just going off memory) that have supported your sentiment. thats a pretty small percentage considering the amount of members we have.

A man was walking along the beach one day, when he saw that, after high tide, thousands upon thousands of starfish had been left, stranded on the sand. Walking down the beach was a young girl, who was picking up the starfish, one by one, and throwing them back into the ocean.
The man ran up to her and said "you're going to put them all back? That's crazy, there are so many! You can't make a difference!"
The girl paused, looked at the starfish in her hand, and said "it makes a difference to this one."
