The triumphant return of Wolfmother is imminent. Frontman Andrew Stockdale has emerged from his self-built home studio and is due to head to LA to record the second Wolfmother album with producer Alan Moulder in April. Wolfmother stepped out earlier in February to play two shows in Brisbane and Sydney to roadtest the new material prior to recording.
Billed as White Feather, the shows at the Valley Studios in Andrew’s hometown of Brisbane and The Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney sold out within minutes of word leaking online, and Wolfmother ripped through a set of old gold and new magic to those quick enough to be there.
Coming aboard for album two is esteemed producer Alan Moulder, universally admired for his groundbreaking work with Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, The Jesus & Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. After mixing a track Andrew had recorded at home for the upcoming Guitar Hero game, Moulder was enlisted to produce the whole record, which is due for release in the last quarter of 2009.
On the live front, Wolfmother will mark their return playing both the Melbourne & Sydney Sound Relief Benefit concerts scheduled to run simultaneously on March 14 and the Clipsal500 motor racing event in Adelaide on March 22.
Yea I love them, hope the new band is pretty solid. Their new song sounds ok for looking like they played in a basement. Can't wait to hear the real tracks

I'm down for new wolfmother. Why is everyone so "PASS" on this but not on Back Door Slam continuing. I know Stockdale isn't as amazing as Knowles but Wolfmother was a very strong act with an awesome debut album. I've seen them twice and they blew me away. Hopefully the new lineup will be just as good.
I doubt they'll be at Roo, i'd say Back Door Slam are more likely......and even that's a stretch

Couldn't have said it better
I remember first listening to Wolfmother's album, and being so excited for their SECOND album to come out. Then they broke up, so I've been waiting for a long freakin' time for this new album

I would say the name/quality ratio...... Wolfmother would be a relatively significant add in terms of where they'd be on the line-up. I don't know much about them, but I guess others would rather see the spot used on a better act (in their opinion) of the same prestige.
BDS on the other hand, would be lower on the bill, and Davey would be the best blues guitarist at the fest.
looking forward to the new wolfmother album (if and when it ever comes out).
wonder why the original members couldn't make it work??
I heard Andrew Stockdale is not the easiest guy to get along with. In fact, he is a complete d-bag.
Very true...I saw them years ago when they played a club of 100 ppl or less. He came out for a drink after the show. Not something I normailly do but he was right beside me and I was half drunk. So I decided to say a few words. He completely ignored me.
I won't say anything rude, because I don't want bad karma, but yea he's not the most friendly guy
I have the recording Wolfmother in 2007. I don't have a good way to post it. If you PM me with directions on how/where to post it, I'll put it up there and PM you back.
