I wanted you to be aware of the email exchange I have had below with someone who administers a Rothbury Festival message board. Truthfully, I am somwhat appalled by the reception and reaction I received. This is someone who uses the Rothbury logo and claims affliliation/insider info with and from Rothbury Festival. If this board and its administrator are representative of the attendees of Rothbury Festival, it is sure not the friendly, welcoming place I thought it was.
I folloed the bankruptcy proceedings very closely and am thrilled that Rothbury is able to hold the festival again this year. I have a rather large group of friends that went last year and another group going this year. I was on the fence between Rothbury and Bonnaroo this year but after this latest interaction I am definately pushed more towards Bonnaroo. Having been to that festival, I know firsthand what a great community it is and I am afraid that my interaction with this small Rothbury message board has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Hey I just wanted to ask you guys if your in any way affiliated with www.rothfest.net
They are a message board that uses your logo, and their admin also claims he's affiliated with AEG. I don't believe him, but he is very abusive. I started an account, with my username being ACSuperfly. I understand these are your competitors but I use this name on a few festival message boards and never had a problem. Well after I posted on a few threads, he left a reply for me to check my messages. I did, and this is the conversation that followed. Oh and by the way, he changed my name from ACSuperfly to AC Superfly Sellout in the middle of it.

I'm a huge fan of Rothbury, what you guys did last year was really amazing. I have an account at infobury.com and the mods over there are great! I get a ton of info from those guys, and plus they don't claim to be friends with AEG or have any resent towards another fest. I just wanted to join another (I have about 5 accounts for festival forums) and join another community, and I was banned within a half hour for not changing my name. Apparently, this isn't the first time either, so I wanted to bring it to your attention because I don't feel he reflects what Rothbury really is, and he shouldn't be using your logo. huh, i dont remember that at all - but im not a ween fan, so i probably didnt notice.
i forgot about the roo community board last year - that place is a mess. anyone been there lately? i havent logged in since last year. im very temped on joining as Capps4Kanye or something like that...
btw, this is very amusing. especially since he has no idea what the hell is going on...

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate the quick response. Like I said, the people at infobury are great. They do it the way a message board should, ya know? This guy is just, well for a lack of a better word, an idiot. I know I'd like to be aware of anyone using my product in the matter the rothfest admin does, so I figured you guys would too. Hmmm, you sure they are banning IPs or mac addresses? If they are banning mac address, AND you are connected through a router, than you can log into your router and manually change your mac address to anything you want (than reboot your modem for it to take effect). If they are banning your IP than just reset modem or connect to the site through a proxy server to hide your identity
