Fishingmaniac said he was innocent in that confusion, too. He also implied he knew who both the Inspector and one mafia member were - implying he was the Inspector and knew one mafia. If Steve were mafia - why would they whack one of their own in the first round? That makes no sense.
Smells like the fisherman might have tossed out a red herring.

Carpedm is heading out Friday morning to the Inforoo Brunch. He's excited to see all his fellow Inforoosters, and he's brought along his infamous cookies. It's quite the walk from BFE all the way to tent only, and about halfway there he decides to stop for a frozen lemonade. The vender, who suspiciously, is wearing all black on such a hot day asks Carpe about the cookies, and offers to trade a free lemonade for a cookie, Carpe has had his fair share of cookies already and happily obliges. He gets his lemonade and starts walking. He's never had a lemonade that tastes so good.. and quickly finishes it. Only then does he notice a strange reside in the bottom of the cup.. The next thing he knows, it gets all hazy. 'Is this the cookies or the lemonade?!' he questions, but seconds later he hits the ground. The cookies go spilling everywhere and the lemonade vender walks up, grabs the cookies and Carpes body and runs off.. Carpe was never seen again.
Day 2 is over. Night 2 begins.
Mafia- PM me your choice and your story Inspector - PM me your guess.
I may be dead...but my ghost will haunt those who put me here. I think the surviving towns-people ought to search the posts and examine exactly how much chatter there is after a given person is accused...there have been some mighty defensive people on this thread...and not always of themselves.

8) Players who have been eliminated are still welcome to post in this thread, but are asked to not say anything leading to any knowledge, suspicions or opinions you might have.
I hope we're not going to have to remind you people of this every time someone gets whacked at night. So far this game, we've had two whackings and I've had to post this warning twice.
I want to get in two cents on the state of things before the whacking commences.
I think two innocents were killed in Round One: Fishingmaniac was probably innocent. If he were mafia, the mafia could have easily rigged the vote to save his skin. I don't think the mafia would let one of their own get offed so soon if they could prevent it. Steve was definitely innocent. The mafia isn't going to whack one of their own in the first round.
I think we killed off a mafia, carpe, during Day 2. His is the only name mixed up in both of the Round 1 deaths. I think we've got a majority consensus that we offed our first mobster.
I also assume another innocent is going to get whacked on Night 2.
So at the start of Round Three, I think we'll be at: 5 Townspeople (possibly including an Inspector) and 2 mafia.

Teh ref told me that my signature and other comments were OK. "I'm fine with you leaving your signature.
I think the rules apply more to a disgruntled inspector or mafia member revealing information they know. :]"

"Wake up, mom!" shouted a tiny figure, shaking Druid in the wee hours of the morning. She rubs her eyes, squints and looks up. "You're not - " A hand covered her mouth, interrupting her. She realized they were not the only two alone in the tent. Still half-asleep, she was unable to overcome the seven tiny people. Her body was discovered in the morning, hanging from the ceiling of the Other Tent... by fish hooks. She is survived by her beloved children: Wilbur, Bobby Joe, Mattie Belle, Billy Bob, Bubba, Trey, and the vivacious Winifred.
Dammit! There were only two players I was presuming innocent, and she was one of them.
Superbek survived the run-off, 7-2, but we can't forget that she was neck-and-neck with Carpe before all this. Sammy was curiously the only voting with Carpe.
Question/clarification for handgun & impartial veteran observers: are mafia members permitted to privately communicate with the rest of the gang after death? I thought that wasn't allowed, or at least varied between refs. The rule itself appears vague, pasted below.
1) The referee randomly chooses from the 11 players three Mafiosi and one Inspector. All the rest are Townspeople. Each person is informed of their part via PM, and are not allowed to share that information with each other except in this thread, the official Mafia game thread. The Mafia are informed of one another's identity, and they are allowed to converse among themselves via PM.
So, since y'all have seen fit to kill me off, SOMEBODY has to take care of my precious kids. I will be needing the following people to PM me you home address so that I can UPS you one of my sweet hearts. I can't send them via US Post Office because they won't take anything Hazardous, flammable, or otherwise destructive to society.
BlueCadet Kdogg Mike Sadielady Bamadancer. Superbek Sammy
There's six of you left. I'm pretty sure two of you are innocent, after thinking about it some more. That leaves four of you as suspects for two mafia roles. Four players and two roles means there's a 50-50 chance any one of them is mafia in my eyes.
With that in mind, I've got some questions for those four players. I am calling out: Bamadancer BlueCadet Sammy Superbek
I've got three questions for all of you, and I want answers.
Bama 1. Why should I believe you're innocent? 2. You were the last to vote in the first round, and I defended you. But being last to vote in the runoff, too - what gives? 3. If you're not mafia, who is?
BlueCadet 1. Why should I believe you're innocent? 2. You've been relatively quiet. The answers you've been giving have been brief. You've been more reactive than interactive. How am I supposed to believe you're a relatively unsocial Townsperson instead of a mafia lurking in the shadows? 3. If you're not mafia, who is?
Sammy 1. Why should I believe you're innocent? 2. Why were you the only player voting alongside Carpe when we killed him? 3. If you're not mafia, who is?
Superbek 1. Why should I believe you're innocent? 2. You were the second-place candidate in the run-off, and I think you only lost because you were the not-AS-guilty candidate. What, if anything, has happened since the run-off vote that suggests you're not the guiltiest player alive? 3. If you're not mafia, who is?
I'm not saying you four have to answer these questions. Understand the situation that we're in, and understand that non-respondents are automatically going to be in the running for my considerations of guilt and, hence, my votes. This isn't to say that answering is going to automatically clear you of wrongdoing in my eyes, either...
I look forward to hearing what you all have to say.
Mike & Sadie: I'm pretty sure you two are innocent. I'm particularly interested in what you two think of all this.
