I have to use Waterbabies tear-free spray sunscreen. I have really sensitive skin and eyes. I really like the smell of it too, kinda smells like baby powder. I had a bad experience in 08 with Coppertone spray that I rubbed on my face. It sweated into my eyes and I had to go to the medical tent several times over the weekend to get my eyes flushed out. They hurt for weeks afterward.

I am pretty nutty about suncreen at Roo. My favorite is the Neutrogena Cooling Mist types, but I have also used the Coppertone Sport. 50 SPF or higher. They have 100 SPF now, and I bought some. I know it probably isn't better, but it makes me feel better. I had melanoma a few years ago, so you can't be too careful.
Just reapply every couple of hours. The sprays feel really good, so I just do it whenever I feel extra hot and sweaty. I do use a different facial suncreen (Neutrogena), but that is only because I don't like to spray myself in the face

My friends and I all use the Neutrogena spray. It's by far the best one that I've used. I just have them spray it on my face for me at a little distance and close my eyes tight

Lol there's no real difference in the higher SPF stuff. Nothing will 100% block harmful rays from damaging your skin. I usually stick to 30 or 45.
According to Spencer, an SPF 15 product blocks about 94% of UVB rays, an SPF 30 product blocks 97% of UVB rays, and an SPF 45 product blocks about 98% of rays. (via Web MD)
I'm not going to wear sunblock... last year I tried but I sweat it all off, and no matter how often I reapplied it, I still wound up burnt. Instead, I'm going to go tanning for a month before Roo. I did this prior to a Florida vacation last year and made it an entire week in the sun without any burns.

Yeah no matter how much I tan prior (and I tan easily and get dark) I have always managed to miss a spot and get very burned in that spot. Just get the spray stuff and re-apply a few times a day. Going with no sunblock is kind of dumb......

As a florida surfer you would think no sunscreen would be necessary, but it isn't just about burning your skin, you must protect yourself from the ultraviolet rays period. A sunburn is just a symptom. Even without a burn you are still getting damage to your skin. I do use only spf 15 at roo, but i reapply every couple hours...

Hey gang Arlene is in surgery right now for the removal of a skin cancer spot on her face. All because she got a blistering sun burn last summer. We went swimming then she fell asleep out on the deck and yours truly was not paying attention (to busy booby watching and yes she knows what I was doing). So please reconsider the no sun block because we are pretty nervious here.
I have some water babies lotion I'll apply in the morning.. and I got a few bottles of walgreens brand spf 50 spray on for back up. (BOGO free right now) My mom had skin cancer when she was my age, so I'm big on using sunscreen.
Oh, I've heard California Baby is good for those with sensitive skin. I haven't used it, just passing on what I've heard.
Popsicle Sarah told me that this year they won't be allowing the aerosol cans of sunblock into Centeroo. I didn't have trouble bringing it in last year (but some people did??).
Can someone point me to where they said we can't bring it?? I can't find it on the official Roo site.
I understand it. I really do. I know a lot of people though that won't think twice about it and pack just aerosol. They need to make a big fuss about it if they change the policy.

I'll ask on there just since I check the site all the time anyway. The official rep does get on there and answer things. It's just that the website is only one of their duties, so they are probably swamped with tons of other pre-fest stuff.

Seriously?I cannot be expected to rub lotion into my dirty sweaty skin!! I took my Neutrogena spray in last year with no issues.
Continuous spray all day, waterproof SPF 70 or higher. I bring 1 can for myself and 1 can for my camp just incase someone starts burning or forgets their own. But my can is mine lol I refuse to let my roo take a downturn because I get a nasty burn on day 2. Quack that with a side of fries
