This will be my third roo and I was thinking of getting a tent that goes in the bed of my truck. Anyone have any experience with these? They really seem like the way to go, more room for campsite. Hit me!!!
I just use a truck topper. Basically the same thing and more useful year round. They are more expensive but you can likely find a used one for cheap. Try Craigslist or Freecycle. (I got mine free off Freecycle!)
I love the setup as you have tons more space in camp and you're off the ground if it rains/floods. A topper also blocks some heat and noise so you can sleep later. I also throw a twin mattress in the back so I get a real bed to sleep on. A tent would not do all this but I'd do it if you can afford it.
This is the way I roll, I love it... Ur off the ground, it is cooler because of the airflow.. for rain and shade purposes I use a first up EZ-UP over the bed, works great.. loved it last year, all my crew had wet tents and I was nice and dry and cool!!!

Anyone know if things of this nature are made for SUVs? I have a Jeep Cherokee and used to have a Suburban and always wanted one. I haven't been able to find anything online though (granted, I wouldn't know what or where exactly to look for them).
