I can't decide if I should bring them or not. If I have them I just picture myself forgetting to take them off at night if I'm not in the right state of mind or having trouble putting them on in the morning.
I'm dependent on contacts. My goal at fests is to at least take them out every-other-night. Just be extra extra careful (to compensate for other things) and make sure your hands are clean. And bring an extra pair.

I take mine out if they start bothering me and clean them but otherwise they stay in for the weekend. Just keep eyedrops with you because they tend to dry out more than usual.
A night or 2 isnt going to kill you. As long you dont have trouble falling asleep with them in, you'll be fine. Just have some drops with you bc they'll get dry.
I am dependant on my contacts - I am really blind without them - I refuse to wear my glasses also - so yes I wear my contacts at 'roo - have never had an issue - AND - I do take them out when I sleep and have not had an issue. Just make sure you wash your hands well and bring plent of saline. Also Visine for contacts is a godsend

For about 3 years I wore contacts that were made to sleep in. I could wear them for a month without taking them out. You might want to ask your eye doctor if you can get a trial pair of something like that. They were great last year. No drops are needed when you wake up.

Bring em and you'll probably be fine. I was, and I wear the oldschool hard lenses (have to). I was also there in 07 and don't remember having any problems.

I wore mine in 07 and it was fine. I'm sure I brought an extra pair with me just in case, but I didn't need 'em. I wasn't doing anything likely to make me forget to take them out, so that wasn't an issue for me, but just as far as wearing them in general it's no problem. And to be honest I think I probably didn't even really wash my hands or anything, at least not all of the time.

I refuse to goto Bonnaroo without contacts. I find them much clearer than glasses, which helps a great deal at night time. I also don't have to worry about partying too hard and loosing my glasses on the ground!
Don't take them out, too much hassle, a few days won't kill you. Just rewet them every now and then otherwise they will probably dry out fast. I have been wearing glasses for probably the past 8 months, going to eye doctor to get a new contact prescription just for June.
EDIT: It's also a hell of a lot easier to wear shades to block your eyes from that ever bright sun that you will be in for about 10-12 hours.

I took my contacts with me and took em out overnight just once for entire stay. I usually dont have problems with my contacts and they were fine on the farm. I just always like wearing my contacts instead of my glasses.
Taking extra pairs is a good idea in case any get messes up or pop out.
Never an issue for me and I am dependent on mine! Cant live without them. I take them out when I go to sleep - no prob. I was even okay in the miserable dust of 07. You will be fine!

I was bamboozled into getting the new toric lenses and i absolutely hate 'em. I've got to clean them constantly, I kinda hope we have a wet roo compared to Dustaroo 07.

i have SUPER sensitive eyes but am so blind so i always wear my contacts. even when i'm not in the best state of mind, i always remember to take them out. also, i bring an extra pair with me in case one tears or something and always have eye drops for contacts (refresh is my personal fave). if it's dusty, get some big shades and you should be fine

I've never worn glasses to a fest. They just make me feel encumbered, whereas in contacts, I feel as free as a naked baby running across a dewy meadow. And you can wear sunglasses, which is always a plus.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.
i also have the toric lenses, and they have taken some getting used to. and i suck at getting my contacts to go in, usually spend about a half hour each day that i wear them.
I wear contacts and haven't had a problem at Roo. I take them out every night (they bother my eyes too much if I sleep with them in). Just make sure you wash your hands. I always bring my glasses and an extra pair of contacts, just in case.

I have torics as well and am worried about them. I'm a first-timer but am bringing an extra set...and two pairs of glasses. I am blind and a worrier. Better safe than sorry!
I usually wear my glasses everyday and rarely use my contacts but hey are a must-have for me @ Roo. Last year my new glasses weren't ready before Roo so I brought my contacts and I am so glad I did. I don't have prescription sunglasses and I would much rather wear contacts with sunglasses than just plain glasses with no tint.
Like Meg said, I just made sure to sanitize my hands really well before changing them. I think as far assleeping in them, if you typically slep in them you'll be fine. Just do what you do normally as long as you are rinsing your eyes/contacts enough. I personally cannot stand sleeping in them.
Do bring an extra pair though. just in case! I thought I dropped one @ camp last year and searched everywhere for it only to find out later when I took them out that it was in my eye the whole time...so I had two contacts in one eye all day & night & never even realized it. LOL!

^ HAha! Once, after a crazy night I woke up and put my glasses on and everything was blurry. I took them off and could see perfectly. I was cured! I could see again, this is some kinda miracle- oh i just left my contacts in again, damn it.

My boyfriend is as blind as a bat and in 06 it was kind of cold Saturday night so we laid beside a fire and fell asleep. Apparently we were too close to the fire and it melted his only pair of contacts. So make sure you bring back ups and glasses and you should be fine.
I live by this stuff. This isn't the redness removal kind, just rewetting drops.
I love my contacts and have never had a problem with them @ roo. However, I can't stand leaving them in as they feel like sand paper the next day. Clean your hands and take them out nightly, simple as that.
I bring 2 extra sets, one stays in the car @ camp, the other goes in my bag for centerroo.
why dont you get a box of contacts you dont have to take out at night. just get your prescription and order them online for cheap. still got 3 weeks so thats way more than enough tine to have them shipped.
