Anyone attending any of their shows this fall? I am going with a friend to one of the Giant Stadium shows. Muse is opening up for them, so this makes me extra stoked for the show. I also have a GA ticket to boot ;D
my gf will be at that show - GA the first night, going for seats the second (she is taking her mom). but she is also going to dublin for 3 nights too. she has a problem
you guys should meet up on night one. she (vicki) will be in the line early to get front row... im not going there, just to the boston shows.
My wife bought tickets last night to Charlottesville. $30 Nosebleed section but we will be there. MUSE! U2 always has the best openers. The last time I saw them both The Pixies & Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy opened.
ga is hard to get. the u2 fans really go for them in the fan club presale. and then there is a presale from the venue, and another presale to season ticket holders, etc etc
so by the time of the general sale, there are like, 12 on offer :/
I'm waking up early tomorrow to get GA tickets to the Atlanta show. I'll be pretty stoked if I can somehow get GA tickets. Anybody else going to the Atlanta show?

Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream

I am pretty excited about this set up though.
I thought about going to that... but I'd be paying to see Muse, and not U2. And I don't wanna have to deal with nosebleed tickets to see Muse just because of U2. That would irritate me, so I will just hope to see Muse at another time I suppose.
One thing Muse and U2 have in common is that they both need to focus on their older material when playing in concert. Both of them, their newer stuff has a general theme of downhill to me
Absolution & Showbiz are incredible albums though!
I'd still be into it just for the set up. I saw them on the Zoo Tv and Pop Mart tours. Both were well worth the money. There is a great mix of old vs. new songs but you never feel like you've been cheated what so ever. I havn't bought a U2 record in forever but live they absolutly tear it all up. Besides ... You never know when something this is gonna happen again.

that stage setup looks crazy. where did you get that pic of it? also, muse will rock that sh*t. i saw them like 5 years ago playing at a christmas show that the radio station in atlanta put on, with velvet revolver headlining and muse totally owned that show.

I truly hope that if you do go, you bring a good book. This is one band that I just do not understand the popularity of. One truly good album years ago (The Joshua Tree) and very little else since. Maybe a live show would change my mind, but I seriously doubt it. I do, however, hope you guys enjoy the same e chord in every song, the new songs that most people forget instantly, and Bono doing his best to be a rock star.
At least you will get to hear With or Without You, a truly great song.

Haha!! She must be a big U2 fan to be going to all those shows. How'd she manage to get tickets to the Dublin show? I heard they sold out quite fast.
she is involved in a few fan forums and has some boston based "crazy u2 fans". they are all in the fanclub and the fanclub gave out codes for presale purchases - to any show. so they pooled their codes to get tickets for everyone. hence, 3 nights of dublin, ga, all at face value. a good fanclub, really.
for the haters, and i used to be one, see a live show. these guys are performers and it's amazing - really, a moving experience. im not embarrassed to say they almost always bring a tear to my eye.

Sen. Chuck Schumer announces new legislation aimed at ticket brokers BY Bill Egbert DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Monday, April 6th 2009, 4:00 AM
The controversy that started over ticket sales for Bruce Springsteen's latest tour may lead to new federal legislation.
A proposed new federal law would curb ticket brokers like the glorified scalpers who froze fans out of a string of high-profile concerts by Bruce Springsteen and others.
The new legislation, announced by Sen. Chuck Schumer Sunday, would give fans two days to buy tickets before a ticket reseller can scoop them up.
"The bottom line is we need to create a fair system where fans get first crack at good seats at a reasonable price," Schumer said.
Ticketmaster enraged fans of The Boss in February when his shows sold out only a minute after tickets went on sale. The Ticketmaster Web site then redirected fans to an affiliated reseller hocking the tickets at a hefty markup.
At the time, Schumer called for an anti-trust investigation of Ticketmaster, which controls up to 70% of the U.S. market for event tickets.
Perhaps wary of federal trust-busters, Ticketmaster's CEO has enthusiastically endorsed Schumer's new bill.
"I am very happy to support Sen. Schumer's thoughtful proposal and leadership on this issue," said Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff.
Ticket resellers will also have to register with the Federal Trade Commission under the Schumer bill.
"This is easy and simple to understand," said Schumer. "I think we can get this done quickly."
It won't be quick enough for U2 fans scrambling to purchase concert tickets Monday.
Schumer hopes to pass the legislation in time for the new process to be in place when baseball playoff tickets go on sale this fall.
