My brother and I did camping the first year and had a good time, we met and saw a bunch of stuff, but the heat beat us up baaaadly.
Then last year we did an RV. We loved the ac and the convenience that it offered, which was the rest we got in the am after late nights of partying, we did not meet quite as many people around us only a few as compared to the camping.
So I reach out to those of you who have done both...what do you think RV or Camping...and please tell me why!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I really liked camping last year, but we're doing an RV this year, primarily for showering and occasional AC. I'm still thinking of sleeping in a tent outside... I'd like to hear what everyone says, though. I've never actually been in a camper before, so I feel a bit ignorant about the pros/cons.
in 06 i flew in - tent only - dirty, hot, no shade. good times!
in 07, VIP + RV - complete overkill with the camper. met lots of folks though, since most of the time at camp, we were in our chairs under the shade. this was the year with the screwup, so our camper was not in a specific area, it was fairly close to the what stage and surrounded by camping only people. it was convenient not having to walk to the bathrooms, but not necessary in VIP. It was also crazy ass expensive to rent and pay for gas. might be good in GA - but i would just use the camper money towards vip tickets.
in 08, VIP camping - the perfect combination. hooked up with the inforoo group, had a massive shade tent area. really didnt meet a lot of non-inforoo people at camp, but whatever - had an amazing time.

The heat at Roo makes an rv a must for us. Northern people hate the heat. Dragging an rv from Minnesota to Roo is a pain, but worth it for the comfort. Go with a Honda eu3000 generator and you won't be sorry, dependable! Camping this year at Sasquatch, too far to drive. Not worried about the heat, worried about freezing our Azz off at night. Have fun at Roo all, we will be back next year.
This will be my first Roo, and my first festival in an RV. I have to say I'm pretty excited about it. I'm from the south, and I absolutely loooove the heat, but it will be so nice to have if the weather turns sour.....and unfortunately I'm thinking it might. I know it's months out, but it's been raining so much down south lately, that it makes me worry a bit. I hope I'm wrong, although it wouldn't really stop me from seeing any shows or anything.

I've never been to Roo or any festivals in an RV. I wouldn't even consider it unless I had physical limitations that 100% prevented me from camping. Sure an RV would be really nice and comfy and all that, but I don't go to festivals for AC or beds or to avoid the weather. I don't even know if I'd take an offer to go in someone's RV if all costs were covered and I didn't have to drop an extra dime...
There's just something about that 8 am wake up call where you crawl out of your tent drenched in sweat and dip your hand in a cold cooler and crack open that first brew. What am I gonna do in an RV? Wake up around 11 and go to the fridge? I do that at home, thanks.
Well we go in our RV, I do give credit to the people who go in tents. Most likely 20 years ago my wife and I would have tented. I remember hiking through the Smoky Mountains for over a week and sleeping in a tent when were engaged. It was a lot of fun.

Get an RV and chill on top of it during the fest. I'm very pro-tent, but the only thing that makes me want an RV is seeing a group of people chilling on top of their RV. Aside from the ferris wheel, I'll bet no more than a couple hundred people get more than a 6inches off the ground at any point during the weekend. Take some photos while you're up there.
I've done a tent at four roos, and this will be my first year with an rv. I'm pumped. My dad's been living in it for about a year, so it'll be like he's at home and at roo at the same time. When he mentions that I'll say, "Roo is your home."

The biggest thing I am looking forward to about having an RV this year - is not sleeping until 11 - it is the convenience of having a toilet. Because - when you have passed out around 3 a.m. and then wake up at 4 a.m. and have to pee - the portos always seem to be a long way away and being a female it's just not as easy as it is for a guy to walk over by the car and pee

yeah, ill be sleeping in air conditioned splendor this year suckers.
camped before, and a 90 degree tent as soon as the sun rises really isnt my style. i come to bonnaroo for the music, not to subject myself to unforgiving environmental condidtions.
