Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The wildest stuff I see at Roo is usually when Shakedown is packed after the headliner, if this is your first Roo you will be amazed as soon as you get there.
Is Bonnaroo a terrible place to bring kids? No. Is Bonnaroo a good place to bring kids? Not so much. Nothing bad will happen to them, just remember that the festival is a bit more raw compared to what you may be used to.
Raw is the perfect adjective. People always ask me to compare Roo to other festivals and I can never find the right word, but thank you raw it is.
This is my fourth year and while I have seen several naked Rooers, it's not all that common. I've seen many topless ladies and many people who might as well have been naked. It only seems like there's massive rampant nudity because naked people are often photographed. Obviously, those same pictures make for great conversations and stories. If anyone plans on attending with their children(and many do), they just have to be sure that they do their best to explain to the kids exactly what they might encounter. There are many things that happen at festivals like Roo that most children will be unfamiliar with but, if you address these possibilities ahead of time, it shouldn't be a problem. While people are there to party, they will still be pretty respectful of nearby families. Much like no one is going to plop down next to your child and "light up", no one is going to dance naked in front of them either, If you do encounter someone who is a little too "out of it" to notice your little ones, there is ample room for your family to find a new spot. I guess it really just comes down to the individual child and what their parent is comfortable with them being exposed to.
Oatmeal is correct. My perception of what goes on at Bonnaroo has been conditioned by the overload of pictures and videos I've exposed myself to. I was trying to get a feel for what Bonnaroo was going to be like, but that can only happen by experiencing it in person. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M GOING TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would ask my friends here, if I do have one too many and end up naked, please throw a blanket on me and head me back to the VIP area. I just don't want to end up on one of those video sites.

Are you kidding!?! I'll be the one posting the video!!!

In 05 I was walking back to my tent around 3 or 4am and I was down by the bridge in the wooded area and there seem to be some sort of comotion and people were heading away from this one particular area and seemed uspet. So I decided to investigate and I took like 2 steps towards the area and realized there was a couple having sex in a mud pit. The good thing is that's probably the most x-rated thing I've seen at Roo and it was very dark and a some what secluded area but the couple didn't really seem to care.

Some karma for that story. I'm going to have that picture stuck in my head for a while.
There was a couple having sex out in the open at like 2 in the afternoon near our camp last year, at first I was sneaking a peek as we were walking by, but the site of the man's manhood flopping out after some long sweaty roo lovin turned me off on nudity for the rest of the day.

i saw a few naked people but that didnt seem to be a big deal. no one was really looking at them. the thing that i would be more cautious of if i had a child there would be the sexual behavior. i saw a lot of sex in the camp areas as i would walk to and from roo. i saw people having all kinds of sex and i would think that a child would wonder more about that than simply a naked person walking around in a crowd. i saw one couple naked in an outdoor shower going at it in broad daylight.....again,,,,it was more what they were doing than the naked part that was concerning. if i were you id just be very aware. i dont think the adults really cared but i would think that children might be confused or alarmed or even just curious. i havent seen anything too terribly shocking inside the festival - more so outside - but thats just my observation.
I have yet to see anyone have sex at Bonnaroo the past 3 years. (I dont think I can count myself since I couldnt really see it all) but ill be on the lookout this year.

Anti- karma for the HUGE laugh that just gave me Oat.
I think I just took your last karma point. ;D I promised myself I wouldn't smite you, but I had to do something for that laugh you just gave me.
It's cool. You can exalt me now, if you want. I reached zero a couple of days ago. I guess not everyone got the memo. Damn secretary! You can still smite me if you chose to but, I'll take karma too. ;D
