I heard about this awhile back. I'm excited to see that Crispin Glover is going to be in it. He seems like a good choice for a Tim Burton movie.
Looks like Alice is the gymnast girl from In Treatment. Anybody else watch the first season of that? She was pretty decent in it. (I can't believe she's 20!)

No you're not the only one. I liked it but found some parts a little creepy. It's better if you nom on some corn before you watch it. And I cannot wait for the new Spongebob episode; I'm a HUGE Spongebob fan (hence the "I'm Ready" sig) and a Depp fan too.

No I loved the new Willy Wonka (I too am that much into Depp) and yes that Spongebob is on tonight 8pm at my house. I have a 6 year old and she's planned the entire night around this episode which is fine with me lol.

Love Depp and Burton
But the new willy wonka was pretty awful. I found the first one much creepier because it didn't try so hard. Gene Wilder is Willy Wonka and Depp was some weird pedophile.

to each their own.
Seriously, the remake might as well have been a horror movie. Johnny Depp looked an awful lot like Michael Jackson and I couldn't get past that throughout the movie. Gene Wilder, on the other hand, was a a great Wonka. He was great at being a prick to the kids, especially that tart that wouldn't stop chewing bubble gum. Boy did she get what she had coming to her.

im stoked for depp as the mad hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the red queen....after seeing her in the potter movies (yeah i watched them) and in sweeny todd she could pull this off nicely

I absolutely adore Helena Bonham Carter... she is sexy and brilliant! Bellatrix LeStrange is my favorite bad guy in the Potter series and when I found out she was playing the part I almost died right there on the spot. And yeah, they were both perfect in Sweeney Todd which is one of my favorite Burton films.
and rooconteur.... genius, really? Idk, I loved everything about the movie except for one thing and that is Johnny Depp and I never thought I would say that *sigh* and yeah I read the book and I never once got that child molestor feel while interpreting it.
I must say that I have rather high expectations for this... let's hope it doesn't turn out like Willie Wonka.
a) it was Charlie and the Chocolate Factroy
b) it was genius
i concur. willy wonka was NOT supposed to be remake of the original film. it was just supposed to be an adaptation. and it was a superb one i thought. i never really liked the new oompa loompas they used...i thought the original movie did that part better, but other than that i thought depp was brilliant!

yeah... not gonna say the Gene Wilder one wasnt good because obviously its incredible, but the new one wasnt trying to be that movie at all and it very much succeeds in that. Wilder is funny, Depp is straaange
i mean cmon, the dolls setting fire @ the start. thats beautiful!
Tim Burton's real hit or miss for me. Love Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Batman Returns and Sweeney Todd. Hate Edward Scissorhands, Planet of the Apes and Big Fish. I think his visual aesthetic is getting kind redundant at this point. We all know you like the pale skin, dark make-up and stripes, Tim...
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

Everyone who said Burton's version of "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" wasn't good is crazy. Go watch it again, repeatedly, until you learn to think correctly.
And let it be understood this his film was intended to be much more true to the book-- the Wilder version was a very liberal adaptation.

It was good. BUT is was not as good as the original. I don't care how many times I watch it.

I loved Charlie and The Chocolate Factory!
But the only movies of his I didn't love were The Corpse Bride which I thought was boring and Batman Returns which had way too many characters in it... and I haven't seen Sweeny Todd...
I think Alice is gonna be great! Though as much as I love Johnny Depp... I do wish the two of them would take a break and spend some time apart trying new things...
But Ed Wood is my all time favorite movie ever made, and that may never change

oompa loompa's look like this in my world
I agree and I was disappointed they didnt use the original songs. So other than the oompa loompas and the songs it was good.
