i caught them last night (sunday). it was an AMAZING show. i went with someone who wasn't a huge fan of theirs, but needless to say they were in awe of how great they were as a live band.

the walkmen have absolutely blown me away on record. you cant go wrong..but i would start with thier most recent "you and me". one of the 2 or 3 best albums of 2008, imo.
spoiler alert.... here's what they played in boston, although on saturday their setlist was a little tweaked so it prob won't be the same for all their dates. still, amazing show

That's the second setlist that i've seen recently that didn't have Trani on it. Maybe they're trying to give it a break for now but that song live is amazing. It's like One Big Holiday for MMJ.
I think I saw them about half a dozen times between '03 and '07 -- if memory serves me right, they closed every show with "Trani." Their live show isn't exactly the most dynamic to begin with, so that was always a little frustrating.
That said, I'm kind of excited for their Red Rocks show, not having seen them in a couple years, and am happy to see their pool of songs growing!

i also went to the cincy show...we got lucyfur, no trani, i think i saw you there, you look familiar, you weren't in the 2nd row were you? i was wearing a bonnaroo shirt from last year, 2nd row, right on the aisle, sec 102, anyways, i wrote a review for my blog, not a great review, though the show was awesome, i just had a hard time saying what i really felt, i'll probably work on the review more until i feel good about it, the review is at naterosing.blogspot.com
