On Cold Mountain's, they submitted a word document, so this is what happens. Please vote based on the lineup.

Syzygy for a lot of bands I want to see (The Streets on the Don't Look Back Stage sounds awesome)
Also even if Cold Mountain had a poster, I would still say this. The top half of the lineup is ridiculously top heavy. If this festival were to actually happen, it would cost a ton of money. The top ten in fact could be the top artist a festival picks.
Although the lineup for the 2nd one is ridiculously good...Its just that....ridiculous. The poster for the first is absolutely plain, but the lineup is semi-realistic so...I have to give my vote to that one
i have to go with cold mountain. sure it looks totally unrealistic, but what are we doing here? a fantasy create-a-festival contest. so clearly this lineup dominates all others. too bad they didn't know what the hell they were doing on the poster though. trying to do it in a word document, psssssh what were they thinking!? syzygy has a pretty good lineup, but nothing amazing. and their poster is very plain as well.

While I agree that Syzygy is a plain poster, at least they have a poster.
Also I think there should be some thought to how feasible a poster is. If it's just filled with Headliners, than it's preposterous and would not turn out well. The price would be crazy high, Radiohead would go on at some time like 3:00pm and set up and clean up for each act would be really long. Also, there is something special about seeing a small act, then a bigger act, and so on, until the anticipation is so high it comes to a fever pitch, and then, Pearl Jam comes on stage. If you have all headliners, then you lose that anticipation and seeing up and coming acts that might be headliners some day.
Cold Mountain really has a dozen headliners. Wow. I'll vote for the first one I suppose, I wish more festivals would book artists to play albums through like Pitchfork.

Even if the Cold Mountain lineup were to somehow happen, the amount of great bands one would have to miss due to the conflicts would be unsettling. I would be awfully sad to know that I was mere yards from Rush, RATM, NIN, etc playing and I would be missing their performance. It's a great list of bands, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that (or voting for that) but it's not something I'm digging with this contest.
I do appreciate the person's effort, though, and did not vote against the lack of a poster. I'm giving bonus poiunts in my decision-process for great posters (or as a final tie-breaker for two toss-up lineups), but no demerits for any lack thereof.

Have to agree with others. Realism has been playing a huge factor for me, which is why I loved the Shadowlands one so much. Don't really care about the lack of a poster (unless it affects readability, like with the Osheaga (sp?) one in a different match. Syzygy this go around.

Syzygy for being plausible. And Ida Maria.
(Is anyone else not a fan of predetermined set lists though? I would much rather let the artist decide. What's the fun in just having the artist go through an album you could listen to on its own anyway?)
Oh, and I'm counting over fifteen headliners on Cold Mountain.

Cold Mountain is just much too much. Plus, Zeppelin with Dave Grohl? Whaaa? Syzygy is nice and evenly played. I love the idea of the Don't Look Back Stage, props!
I'm also loving that a lot of these fests don't have comedy scheduled. Not that I don't love comedy acts but I've never seen one at a fest and don't see the point in wasting money that could be spent on a much better music act... or even better accommodations...
I voted for cold mountain, because I'd like to see the creator come up with a schedule for all that.
it's clear that i'm going to lose. and i will be gone on vacation for the next 4 days. so i think it's safe to say that cold mountain is mine. and i will gladly show you the schedule if you want to see it.
