Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was so happy to see that it was 'featured' this week, as I'd read about it before and was hoping for a little more information. I really think that it will be awesome to stretch and be invigorated and centered each morning, especially considering the beating our bodies will be taking throughout the festival. The classes I take are very small and of course I'm usually alone for my home practice, so I think it will be a wonderful experience to practice yoga with a very large group... imagine the positive energy! Whoa.
So has anyone done this at previous festivals? From what I can see on the schedule, music doesn't get going until about noon, so I won't be missing anything during yoga and even if I stay for both (9a and 10a) there will still be time to head back to camp for a hearty breakfast afterward.
I wonder... do people bring their sticky mats for this? I was thinking a beach towel might be more appropriate since we will pretty much be in the dirt and I think my mat would get beyond disgusting.
Has anyone done this before? I would love to hear about your experience.
Hope to see you all at yoga in the mornings. I am hoping to catch it every day, and bring kiddo an husband along with me. Yay. ;D
I'm thinking about going maybe one day. I just recently got into yoga and am admittedly very bad at it so far, but I do feel more relaxed and rejuvinated after.

I think this is a great idea. I'll be there. It'll be something to break up the morning. Didn't Franti do the yoga classes at Rothbury?
This would be a DREAM yoga class...
This is my first Bonnarroo and I was so happy to see they had yoga. I'm really excited to practice in the morning with everyone. Does anyone know what kind of yoga we practice? I just started doing Bikram yoga (105 degree room) in January. It'll be nice to sweat and stretch outside in the morning sun. Yayyy Bonnarooo!!!

They've done Yoga classes for a while now. I always say i'm going to do it but then I wake up and it's too hot and early for me. I always give up and just wait to go into centeroo.
Definitely a cool thing to have though. I appreciate that it's there if I want to use it.

I'm pretty new to yoga too, about a year maybe a year and a half, and I'm not very "good at it" either. But I've been told there's no such thing as "good at it" when it comes to yoga. Its a struggle for me, coming from a 10+yr dance background and extreme flexibility and then recovering from a car accident followed by years of sedentary life, I am quite inflexible now and I am always fighting the urge to push my body farther than it can go (dance habits die hard). I find that yoga props are very helpful for me, I use my strap and block just about all the time. No matter how hard practice is, I always fell refreshed and loose and energized and full of positive light afterward, so I think 'roo is the perfect place for a big class, even though I'll be one of those struggling to maintain modified poses and yearning for my more flexible days. ;-)

I kind of assumed it would be general hatha yoga, but now I think that doing yoga outdoors (which I have never done!) in the hot roo sun will be someting very similar to Bikram. Now I'm even more excited. And we could all use a chance to sweat out some toxins, haha.

I did yoga at Wakarusa it was really nice to do the sun salutations and try to ward off the rain storms. Didn't work, well that day it did other days not so much. I didn't use a towel or mat, people generally were using each others' tarps due to the ground being very wet. I would say a towel would be fine -- no one was judging at wakarusa and I doubt any one bonnaroo would be trying to out-shine each other at yoga with pretty outfits and expensive mats like at some studios etc. I plan on going if at all possible. It really makes the day go better. I believe it will be just a general yoga style since there are so many folks and varied practices and skill levels. Hopefully see you all there.

While I didn't participate last year, I did come across a bunch of people doing it and watched for a bit and snapped a few pictures. I uploaded them just for you guys and gals.

I have wanted to do this every year and I never get up the motivation to get over there so early. These pictures, however, are making me want to put out the effort and go...it looks like everyone is having a good time.

Quoting myself from two years ago...still holds true. Maybe this year is the year to get up and go down there.

Looks like fun. I will definitely do that. I try to work out four or five days a week but, traveling to and from TN, I leave Tuesday to get to bonnaroo on Wednesday and then leave Monday to get home Tuesday, so eight days off seems like a lot. See you there!
