I'll be staying in a hotel in Tullahoma, so I am wondering the opposite... Anyone know where I get routed coming in 55 North, and how bad the traffic is?

to me, if you are coming in from the north and non-highway, it is better. that being said, mods please close this thread cause we don't want the WHOLE world knowing the heady shortcuts. I pm'ed the guy who asked.

If you didn't write something like this no one would know it's a "shortcut" they would just think it's an alternative route in, that most likely their mapquest route wasn't taking them anyway....

my apologies to jzor, i did not PM him. still some get off I-24 early to do this and that PM was sent to me last year (it was titled "the secret")....so i know of what i speak, that way did rule and i got a good spot. i mean what if wooks do unite to clog this artery? You'll wish you had closed the thread.
I'm pretty certain that there are other threads praising Route 55 as another way in to Manchester.... I prefer Hwy 41 myself, and I really could care less if the whole world knows.

I agree. I understand the concern regarding the routes but we're all going to get there one way or another. Just be nice to fellow drivers and, unless the driver is a complete ass, he/she should return in kind.
Honestly, I would suggest leaving the night before if anyone thinks traffic will be a big issue for the locals. I believe that is what my group may be doing and I've created our route to Roo from how I used to drive to work from the Boro to Tullahoma during Roo '07 since no one is really familiar with how to get there (even those who have been before!).
My suggestion is the shorycuts threw the back routes. It will save the aggravation of the congestion on the main routes. Some of the back roads are more scenic and have better stops. They can also be a little faster. My route is catching hwy 64 then go threw lynchburg. to get to Tullahoma. Then you can stay in Tullahoma and it just a hop, skip and a jump to the roo.
