With the rise of organized crime, No-No dealers, and international sweatshops, todays telecommunications companies have found it prudent and profitable to put out cheep, disposable, prepaid cellphones. Now, I love my iphone (which cannot be insured), and i think it would be cool if that bonnaroo app came out, but for $50, including airtime, i can get a cheep verizon phone that can be sacrificed to the mud god or to my own drunken fecklessness. Can anyone think of ideas about why I shouldn't do this?
Feckless is the word of the day, use it! –adjective 1. ineffective; incompetent; futile: feckless attempts to repair the plumbing. 2. having no sense of responsibility; indifferent; lazy.
iPhones don't exactly play well with moisture and dust. However, I'm still searching for a <$30 prepaid phone... just needs to text and make calls for 4 days.
I just got it today and i'm either gonna return it for a full refund (minus use and $25 activation) after roo or sell it on ebay for like 35 bucks... not bad for a phone

I will have my phone shut off ^-^ No need in communicating with those outside Bonnaroo. It's their fault they won't be there, they can talk to me when I get back!

You can get an iphone insured for 2 years for $100 -120 through squaretrade

i've recently seen at wal*mart verizon has a nice little prepaid camera phone for $16.95, and i know at&t has a prepaid phone for about 30 dollars.
Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, Snoop Dogg, TV on the Radio, MGMT, The Knux, Crystal Castle, Julia Nunes, Tobacco, Portugal. The Man, Gomez, Animal Collective, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, David Byrne, Public Enemy, Girl Talk, Bon Iver, Gov't Mule, Citizens Cope, Andrew Bird, Coheed & Cambria & Phish.
I may do this just incase the iPhone battery runs out (it will). Anyone know if I can pop the iPhone sim card into a cheap pre-paid phone? I know regular AT&T sims can...
any att sim card will work with any att phone...my brothers service just got disconnected and i bought his samsung propel slider phone.stuck my prepaid att simcard in it and it works fine.infact i bought this original card with a phone at walmart like 2 years ago and any new phine iget is usually a handmedown.if you have your old att device before you aquired your iphone or newfangled smart phone or whathaveyou just slide your card in it and there you go.only thing that sucks is if you lose your phone you lose your sim and thats your number and data plan and such.youd have to call and get a new sim sent and the number transferred and all that hype.best thing to do would be to go to wal mart and spend twnty bucks on a brand new prepaid att device with new sim, activate it under the 1.00 per day plan, and give out your new "bonnaroo 09 " number.youll get 10.00 in free airtime, which is double what you need for the festival(granted most of your contacts are att, whom its free to talk, every one else is a dime a min).however if your gonna be doin a lot of texting, buy a fifteen dollar card and buy the 1000 text for 9.99.texts are normally.20 cents..25 for picture messages.

I've been using a Net10 phone for at least 2 years. You can find them at Malwart, Kmart, Fred's (in GA) for $30 with 300 minutes included good for 60 days @ .10/min. & .05 texts. Fred's often has reconditioned phones for $10 with the same air time deal.
I have service with AT&T and use my previous phone when I am going out doors and don't want to worry about ruining my current phone (FUZE). The great thing about having GSM service is that you can just pull the sim card and put it in any other GSM phone and you're golden as long as it is no sim locked for a different carrier. I will be carrying this older phone with me at 'roo that way I am on my same phone number and same plan as with my normal phone.
What's AT&T service like at 'Roo? I REALLY need to be able to use my iphone (I'd like to be able to communicate with friends inside 'Roo via an app). I bought an iphone car charger & battery extender for the inevitable half day iphone battery life.
