I know this is been asked and discussed in the past, but I would like a current answer. I am hoping Roo has improved the traffic issue of coming in -- I know in the past it was a several hour wait to get in... I am inquiring if in 2008 was it a several hour wait to get in or no? Were there times in which it was a shorter wait etc? Additionally, how was getting out? thanks so much... Kelly
I have so far only attended the '08 roo. I think we arrived in the manchester area around noonish on thursday and were in line for a couple of hours before we made it to our camp site.

There's no rhyme or reason. There is no "CURRENT" answer. Some places you get lucky, some you don't. When one side gets backed up, another entrance goes quicker. When that get's backed up, another one does. It's too hard to logistically say "This time is the best time to arrive".
Every year is different, every line is different, every entrance is different. Last year I left walmart at 730 on thursday morning and was setting up camp an hour later. But others were stuck in line for hours.
It's too hard to predict. Just give yourself at least 5 hours before the first band you want to see starts. otherwise go whenever
2007---The moment the sun broke, we were in line....we were in BFE!! 2008---The moment the sun broke, we were in line...WE were in RV and about a 10 minute walk. 2009---Impatientness will get the better of us yet again, and we will be in line as soon as the sun peaks its face!

I guess we are going to try to arrive later in the afternoon on Thursday. It seems that the lines will be shorter. I don't really care if we are in BFE or not as long as we have nice neighbors etc. Please let me know if that is not correct if the lines last all day Thursday or what. with much thanks for everyone's input Kelly
I've gotten in line between 8 and 10 every year for four years and have never waited more than 2.5 hours and never been more than 15 min. from Centeroo. That being said, I agree with the other people who say that there's no rhyme or reason to the entry process. I'm just going to stick to what has worked in years past for me.

02 neighbors waited 13 hrs. we paid some local, took us in a back way, best 25 i ever spent.

havent been since. i remember alot of the problem was people falling asleep waiting in line. i would get out and walk the line waking people up to move. i hope they have it better now. at least i can sleep in the back of the rv waiting this year.

we are planning on leaving here around 4-5pm, getting to walmart at 4-5am, sleeping for a bit, and getting into line around 9-10.
as nuts as this sounds i want there to be a good bit of a line when we are coming in, i think its part of the experience, especially for first timers like us... but i don't want to wait too long and have family camp fill up on us. plus who can sleep in a parking lot past 9am?

the only year i've been was '03 and we were in line for a solid 8 hrs. which was horrendous but actually worked out because obviously we became real friendly with our neighbors before we ever got into "Roo. I got paid 15 bucks to piss on an electric fence while waiting in this lengthy line and was the belle of the ball for a solid 5 min

in '06 and '07 i arrived wednesday night around 10p and waited no longer than 45 mintues in line. my camp spot was a 15-20 minute walk to centeroo (camp jaws).
in '08 i arrived between 7a-8a thursday morning and waited about 2.5 hours in line. my camp spot was a 5-10 minute walk to centeroo (camp chewbacca).
i plan on arriving the same time in '09 as i did in '08.

i dont know, i have to pick up my media badge at the radio station (?) ok, whatever station or wherever it is, i have no idea, i don't know where the walmart is, all i know is, the two times i've been down, i just follow traffic, this time i'm going solo and suck with directions, i dont know what time i should leave, should i leave wed afternoon and sleep in the radio station parking lot, should i leave around midnight on wed and hope to get to the radio station by the time they're opening, any tips from any media people would be welcomed

07 - drove for 2 hours, waited in line for 5 hours (as cars passed us on the highway, laughing) 08 - drove for 2 hours, waited in line for SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS (as cars passed us, laughing) I'm not sure what to think of all those passing 'roo cars ... but at least I've got Karma on my side (((where are they GOING?!)))

in '03 got in line about 10 on thurs.. i was in line for 12 hrs...it wasn't too bad because people were just hanging out in the road..grills out and everything...ended up being right next to fakedown and about a 5 min walk to centeroo
Last year we got in line, for the temporary exit on the interstate, around noon on Thursday and waited for about 5 hours, which was tough after driving for almost 12 and I drove the whole way and in line! Had a great camping spot though, about 10 minutes from Centeroo. I can't remember how long we waited in '08, but it was shorter than 5 hours. I too am wondering where all those 'Roo cars are going that pass us as we wait in line!?!?
